COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Embrace a classic! Home Town Blonde is an old world style pilsner, assertively hopped with four premium hop varieties. Tettninger, Saaz, Styrian Golding and Strisselspalt varieties all grace this German-style brew with the complex character you enjoy in a classic pilsner. Expect to pour an elegant blonde glass of beer, crowned with a rich head of foam that resonates with our chorus of hops. Although delicate in appearance, our Hometown Blonde has a backbone, but of course thatís no surprise in Wisconsin. Enjoy!

Fresh bottle from the Brewery before it hit store shelves. I am glad to have tried this one as I missed out on the old style. Not my go to style of beer but light and refreshing. Would have liked to have this during the heat wave, but still not too bad.

Opened a 12 oz. bottle and poured into the proper pilsener glass. Upon bringing the glass to my nose, this pilsener noticeably bursts with noble hop aroma, and holds a fluffy, foamy, white head with a golden appearance. Unlike Two Women lager, this pilsenerís taste is not as acidic, and has a sweeter body and taste; a bit more towards the German style pilsener, but not as sweet as a traditional munich helles. I assume this is due to the mash water ph. In addition to the slightly sweet body, this pilsener has a quite spicy and complex hop bitterness that lingers on the palate. Donít expect some big, palate abusing beer in Hometown Blonde. However, for the style, New Glarus hit the nail on the head like always.

12 oz. bottle. Straw golden pour with a thick, white head. Aroma of fresh dough, pils malt, mild leafy hops. Flavor has a mild bread and dough sweetness with some crisp hop notes. Notes of pils malt and spicy german hops. Medium bodied, medium carbonation. Solid little pilsner here from New Glarus.

UPDATED: MAY 20, 2014 A great little pilsener. The hop selection is a bit more experimental but it is great.

12oz bottle, 2012 release, purchased at the Hilltop Brewery in New Glarus. Pours a crystal clear, bright yellow color with a white head and some lacing. Aroma is malt, bread, some grassy hops. Medium on the palate with soft carbonation. Flavor is bitter, hoppy, pine, grass, cereal, bread, a little nutty maybe, with a light bitter finish. A very tasty pilsner. I will probably drink quite a few of these this fall.

Pours yellow with a white head. Smells of dry malt, noble hops (spicy, sage, earth). Tastes initially sweet with a nicely balanced hoppiness on the finish.

Bottle thanks to Skyview. Lightly hazy yellow-orange with a smooth white head, very herbal spicy hop note some earthy sweet hay malts in the aroma. Taste is peppery malty, too much like a Helles, warm hay, grassy hops, not that refreshing.

12oz bottle, brought in by some folks, taste is surprising for a pilsener with some age on it, still bright and bubbly with big white head.. malty and crisp, not bad at all. good change from Oktoberfests.

Hazy apricot with a minimal head, decent hazing. Crisp and refreshing beer. Grassy hops, light malt, dry finish. Pretty well balanced brew.

pours a bright golden colour with a foamy white head. Lacing that is left behind is scattered. Aroma carries peach, apricot and pineapple notes. Taste is clean and refreshing. Flavors of grass, honey and hops.
