COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Embrace a classic! Home Town Blonde is an old world style pilsner, assertively hopped with four premium hop varieties. Tettninger, Saaz, Styrian Golding and Strisselspalt varieties all grace this German-style brew with the complex character you enjoy in a classic pilsner. Expect to pour an elegant blonde glass of beer, crowned with a rich head of foam that resonates with our chorus of hops. Although delicate in appearance, our Hometown Blonde has a backbone, but of course that’s no surprise in Wisconsin. Enjoy!

Pours a clear golden with a smallish white head. Aroma is grassy and grainy with a hint of lemon. Slightly sweet with more bitterness than I expected.

Arriving too late to sample the Red, I tried this. Whatever.

Looking at the bubbles on the head from below looks really cool on this beer. Nice golden color with a thick, long lasting head. Citrus aroma, and not a whole lot of taste. A little lemony, but thats about it.

Bottle… Brilliant, clear yellow lager with a small, soapy, white head and good retention. The subtle aroma is of spicy, peppery hops with whispers of pilsner malt, lemon peel and acetaldehyde. Crisp, acerbic, hop flavor with moderate to medium bitterness. Medium-bodied and oily with lively carbonation. Short, metallic, abrasive finish.

The description on the bottle describes this as a German style Pilsener, but it gets the generic categorization on the site. All of which matters little, since this has nothing to do with the Pilsener style, drinkable though it be. In the glass it’s golden, nicely carbonated, and has a mediocre head. The aroma is bready malts with a drop of honey, but no sign of the requisite hoppy bitterness. There’s a mild grassy/floral bite to the flavor, but not enough to classify this as a Pils. Okay, I s’poze, but not what I’d expected.

bottle. one of the many new glarus brews i brought back from a recent trip to Wi. pours a lemon color with a thick, lasting white head, has a floral slightly sweet aroma that is nice. i’m not a fan of pilsners except for the occasional mass consumption of the macros to help dull the pain that is my life, but back to the beer. overall flavor is o.k a little bit sour, doesnt finish well. a little too hoppy, but not as bad as some. it is about what i expected.

Chicago trip. Monday 21:20+. Thick white head on gold. Relatively quiet nose, some grassy notes. Hops and wet grain flavour with vegetable notes. Funky weird finish.

12 oz bottle. Golden and with large white head. Aroma is grainy and mild hop. I am surprised by the flavor as I was expecting a belgian blond rather than a bohemian pilsener. Grainy malt with some fruity esters, semi sweet and lots of noble hop spice. Med to thin body with med carb. Not a big fan of the style, but appreciate it for being a very well done version of it. Easily drinkable and somewhat pleasing, will not buy again probably.

12 oz bottle pours a golden yellow with a white head. Grain/malt aromas with a hint of hop spice mostly faded into the malt. Medium slick body. Citrus/malt/grain flavors that touch of spicy hops is almost gone. But its still refreshing and better than others’ attempts at the Pilsner.

Bottle. Pours a clear and pale yellow. Flavor is a classic pilsener that doesn’t have any real distinguishing characteristics. Not bad, but boring.
