HonkeyBra (1270), Lemont, Illinois, USA Aug 4, 2008 Nice caramel pour with some head. Aroma of straight up hops. Flavor is more spicy and flavorful rather than bitter. Great taste, well balanced with caramel and toffee notes. I like it. bu11zeye (5430), Frisco, Texas, USA Aug 3, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a cloudy orange body with a small beige head. Aroma of florals, herbs, grass, pine, and earthiness. Flavor of hops (grass, herbs, citrus) and caramel malt. mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA Aug 2, 2008 bottle courtesy of bu11zeye. amber pour with a cream ring. great fresh hop scent along with some pine. great hop smooth flavor that’s very easy and not bitter at all. Beerlando (2284), Orlando, Florida, USA Aug 1, 2008 Pours a dark but clear burnt orange color. A frothy, cream colored head is large but quickly fleeting, leaving jagged bands of lacing on the glass. The aroma is heavy on toasted caramel malts, with plenty of cereal grains and notes of earthy, peppery hops. Hints of citrus blossoms poke through, but the hop feel is mostly faded and dusty. Flavors mirror the aromatic profile. Moderate floral and earthy bitterness gives way to the more assertive toasted caramel. Substantial body with balanced carbonation, finishing just slightly syrupy. This has a very British feel too it, overall. It’s good, but I much prefer American style IPAs. Jwasciuk (194), Lowell, Michigan, USA Jul 31, 2008 pours hazy dark amber/orange with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is moderatly malty like cookies, lightly hoppy and moderatly yeasty of grape and apple. Flavor starts light but balanced, nice hop flavor, light to medium bodied, creamy and softly carbonated, a bit of alcohol in the finish Homer321 (127), Rockledge, Florida, USA Jul 30, 2008 on draft at the glarner stube. nose is full of cotrus hops and lemon with slight grassy notes. dark red color , maybe amber. bitter up front with slight warming. finishes dry with slight caramel notes Baumgartner (108), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA Jul 27, 2008 A rich amber brew with a frothy off-white head. Rich hop aroma much like grapefruit. Amazingly complex but not over-reaching in any specific area. Great hops IBU but not taste bud killing. thejoeshow (232), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Jul 25, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a rich caramel color with a small off white head that disappears rather fast. Aroma is muted and not as floral and intense as you might expect. It has hints of citrus hops but you need to seek them out a bit. The malt comes through in the end of the nose as well. Very crisp flavor. Mostly citrus with some bitterness in the mix. Then it gives way to the sweet malt backbone and then....done. no real aftertaste. it finishes nice and clean. Very balanced beer and nicely understated. Unlike a lot of IPAs that try to pound you to death with the hops, this beer focuses more on making a very drinkable IPA that does have some nuts.
