Quake1028 (633), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 30, 2007 Bottle courtesy of JB175. Dark amber body, smallish off white head. Aromas of spicy hops, pine, oranges and lemons. A bit of malt in there, but this one is heavy on the hops and smells very fresh. Heavy hops in the flavor, but this time the malt is more pronounced and balances things out. Oily palate, some grain and chalkiness in there also. Good carbonation. Finish is bitter and spicy, appropriate to style. Medium bodied. A very good IPA. mgumby10 (1844), Jupiter, Florida, USA Sep 29, 2007 Courtesy Quake1028. Pours a slightly hazy red orange with an off white head. Fresh hops aroma, some grapefruit, malts, and cinnamon. Standard smelling, but inviting. The flavor had a pretty big malt presence, some sweet caramel as well. The hops are pretty mild, some grapefruit citrus, really mild bitterness. Decent session IPA, could have used a little more hops to it, the malts seem to be dominant, but still drinkable. 37steel (186), St. Charles, Illinois, USA Sep 27, 2007 Bottle. Pours a hazy copper with a nice whitish head. Aroma is flowers and pine. Very well balanced malt and bitterness. Little bitter bite at the finish. Very good beer. RedHaze (370), Where the hell am I?, Nebraska, USA Sep 23, 2007 Pours a very hazy dark copper with a dense one finger head. The foam settles very slowly to a thick cap that leaves behind a solid sheeting of lace.
Smell; mild citrus and pine, with a bit of some sweet malts and cardboard. Unfortunately I think this bottle may be a little past it’s prime, at least I hope so.
Taste; as with the aroma, a bit of some pney and citric hops with a fairly solid malt backbone, but it’s all really hurt by a nagging cardboard/oxidized flavor. I can see how this would be a pretty good beer when it’s fresh, but this bottle is definitely past it’s prime. I had to trade to get this bottle, and I hope that I can have a chance to try this again, but a bit more fresh than this one.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a very smooth carbonation, and the drinkability is good despite the oxidation. drunkenbum84 (70), kenosha, Wisconsin, USA Sep 13, 2007 Another really good beer from new glarus. Flavor is nice and hoppy with hints of maltiness. Definitely one of the better IPAs Ive tried. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Date: 07/17/2005

wizzler (25), Manitowoc, Wisconsin, USA Aug 31, 2007 [from bottle] amber, real hoppy, can taste the hops almost before you open the bottle. not very offensive, easy to sip on. a little fruit in there. not a real big fan of the ipa style but i have drank this brew more than once. JB175 (1654), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 30, 2007 Hazy golden-amber color with a rather large white head. Aroma is primarily of earthy-sweet hops with some bready malts detectable. Flavor has a nice mix of earthy and fruit-sweetened hops plus some fresh bread and nuts. Smooth and tasty. A really nice IPA.
