kreepindeth (405), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA Dec 28, 2006 Pours a cloudy orange color. Has rich citrus/pine aroma. Taste is clean and bitter with some mild pineyness. tennisjoel (931), Shakopee, Minnesota, USA Dec 26, 2006 Bottle. Orange pour with a substantial head. Vegetal flowery hop aroma. Pepper flavor with not much bitterness for an IPA. Some caramel notes lying underneath all of it. Alcohol is well hidden. To me this is middle of the road as far as IPA’s go, but not 90th percentile as the score suggests. Maybe it’s just not the hop variety that’s at the top of my list. Improves as I drink more of it, a good sign which prompted me to increase the overall score from 14 to 15. GeneralGao (3051), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Dec 25, 2006 12 oz bottle. Poured a clear copper color. Head was very thick and foamy. It took a while to settle and left a thick lace on the glass. Very attractive beer. Smelled of sprucy, citrusy hops and malty caramel. Flowery hop flavor overpowers the malt somewhat. Spicy and dry on the tongue with a toasted bread note at the end. Good beer, but certainly not as good as most people have rated it. MrBendo (1039), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Dec 16, 2006 Thanks to buckybeer for the bottle. Pours clear orange with big, rocky head. No lacing seen. Aroma is pine hops and some sweet malt. Taste really lays out the malts in here. Big caramel, roasted sweet. Finishing with a nice hops bitterness. Medium bodied. Very nice twist on malts, and very good. IrishBoy (2686), Bakersfield, California, USA Dec 13, 2006 Bottle from iowaherkeye; Nose of citrus and HOPs; cloudy copper with a big, long-lasting, glass lacing yellow head; flavor is hoppy with mild bitterness and citrus, well balanced by some caramel malt in the medium body; the hops lasting into the finish. Ofortuna (322), Grafton, Wisconsin, USA Dec 11, 2006 Ah, a good beer......Definite smell of Cascade in the aroma. Very enticing and I haven’t even poured it yet. Color is a deep, reddish copper. Nice carbonation with a nice full head and good lacing. Good hop complexity and am able to pick out the Cascade and Goldings. Nce earthy flavor where the malt is well represented and provides balance. Body was a little thinner than I would have liked, but I’ve been having many double IPA’s lately and I need to remind myself this is "just" an IPA. Nice aromatics and a good session IPA. Good change of pace beer.
incutrav (576), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA Dec 11, 2006 Updated: Jan 2, 2007Ultra tasty offering from new glarus! I really enjoy this now that i like IPA’s more. Really tasty, reminds me of the Summit IPA, not to overpowering in the hops either, but plenty of them in there, i like the hoppies! ogglethorp (882), Ohio, USA Dec 7, 2006 Bottle. Pours hazy amber color with huge off white head. Lots of lacing. Aroma is delectable, hops, floral, grapefruit, citrus. Flavor is slightly sweet, caramel, floral, some honey notes, piney.
