Engelsmann (653), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 12, 2005 Bottled. Pours a clear amber, with a small white head. Aroma is hoppy, with notes of pine. Taste is of sweet malts, and a hoppy, pinelike bitternes. Medium bitter aftertaste Emil (6075), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 12, 2005 Bottle. Amber colour with a small tan head. Light sweet pine, citrus, hoppy aroma and taste. Medium body and a light bitter sweet, dry finish. OldGrowth (1407), North Carolina, USA Sep 5, 2005 Bottle, from trade with Duane. Good nose, Bittersweet. Orange, caramel, nutty, hints of apricot. Clean brownish orange color, small head that faded quickly. Bittersweet flavors, like aromas with grapefruit and a little viney. Medium body, creamy slippery mouthfeel, bitter sticky finish. Good brew, nice mix of hops, appreciating the East Kent Golding these days. Another good beer from New Glarus. juliejalapeno (16), USA Sep 4, 2005 i did not enjoy this, but that is because ipa’s are just not for me. thought i’d give this one a try since it’s from new glarus and i hadn’t had an ipa in awhile, but i guess i have yet to accquire the taste RAYBOY01 (1813), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 1, 2005 Beautiful coppery color with a rich rocky tan head. Flowery hops with a strong pine and citrus rush. (Blend of PNW hops and English style hops) VERY interesting brew. SpecialSauce (47), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Aug 31, 2005 Very nice color, amberish with medium lacing. The smell is fantastic, spicy-floral and bitter. Taste follows suit. Very smooth finishing bitterness, probably the best part about this beer is the combination of spicy-floral and citrus hops with the smooth hoppy finish. One of my new favorite session beers. brentfeesh (1030), Gadsden, Alabama, USA Aug 18, 2005 Amber color. Right on the money. No head to speak of but some spotty lace. The aroma is great! Very clean citrus hops. I note pineapple, apple, (possibly ruby red grapefruit) and spicy hints. Pleasing and crisp. Really a nice clean tasting beverage. Spicy hops and grapefruit citrus (really my favorite combo of hops ever – Cascade and Kents Golding). Really…This is a beverage I’d brew and be totally happy with (also reminds me of the old IPA at Tustin Brewing Co, in California). The malt is there in the background but silent. It’s there to give you the hop experience, that’s it. And it holds up the hops very well. I’d drink this anytime. I wish I had some on tap in the garage. MAP (1085), Lakewood, Ohio, USA Aug 14, 2005 Really nice orange red color with almost no head on it. Aroma is a nice bready citrus smell, some honey and wheat mixed with a strong citrus and floral notes. Flavor is a pretty crisp, right to the point hops, then really cleanly tastes sweet and balanced. Palate is bitter at first, then really viscous and full bodied.
