Aromas of earthy and citrusy hops. Clean, crisp flavor, slightly sweet witha great hop presence. Medium to thick mouthfeel and a great finish. I could drink a lot of these, if only the New Glarus bastards would distribute out of their stupid cheese state. Very good beer. SwedeDog (364), Windsor, Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 1, 2005 12 oz bottle from Ughsmash. Definite grassy hops in the aroma, along with a malty sweetness and I detect a bit o’ honey along with grapefruit sourness (sour in a good way). Did I mention that it’s a beautiful IPA to look at? Good head on a dark amber body. The flavor was surprisingly thin. Rather watery. What is there is some bitter and dry hops and sweetness from caramel. It goes down smooth and bitter all at the same time. It’s a good one after mowing the lawn. Thanks again, Jason! valpoaj (363), Valparaiso, Indiana, USA

Floral hops on the aroma with some embedded light fruit scents. Very nice hop flavor is balanced nicely by some caramel malt flavors. This was a very enjoyable IPA...would grab again if I find it!

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 28, 2009 My scribbled note says it had a bready aroma, bitter hops with little else. I don’t remember much more, which for me says that it was pretty unremarkable in a category that I really like. pkbites (344), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | May 21, 2006 The roasted hop aroma will get you. One of the best smelling beers ever. Deep tan body with nice rich head. Bitter, but not as bitter as expect considering all the hops. Flavor is shockingly light UNTIL swallowed. Then a burst of complex aftertaste hits the palate. The timing of the flavor and caramel notes is masterful. kosko20 (338), Bemidji, Minnesota, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Sep 22, 2008 MMmmmm hops. Aroma hops: grapefruit, citrus, pine. Caramel malt background as well. Pour is dark copper with thick, off white head. Flavor is well balanced of hops and caramel malts. Palate is bitter and mildly spicy. Very well crafted brew. I wish NG would get more recognition around the country!
