Aroma of grapefruit and resins, with some biscuit in the back. Flavors evolve as the beer warms, starting with a West Coast hop profile of grapefruit and pine, and changing into an earthy Brit style as it warms, with a toffee accented malt. Enjoyable, thanks wawood! Boutip (2412), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 25, 2004 Bottle: Poured a light brown colored ale with a nice big head with better then average retention. You can easily feel the bitterness in the aroma. Taste is as expected, i.e. quite bitter with a side of roasted malt and subtle floral notes. I would put this one on a par with Victory Hop Devil as one of the great IPA out there. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 5, 2004 Color is typical clear, reddish hue, with a firm, if smallish, white head. Nose is sharp, and hot, pine and spruce associations jumping forward. Some citric tones, too, but however you divvy it, it’s all hops, baby! Fresh and bold on the palate, though the finish is a bit too brief, but not unmemorable.
Body’s medium, malt back-up is quite good, very substantive. Very tasty, and very rewarding! Deee-licious! Quite a treat for this card-carrying hophead. dkoonce (899), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 25, 2007 This beer is the best New Glarus beer I’ve yet had, and is a very nice IPA.
This beer pours a slightly hazy copper color with good head formation, which sticks around quite well. Aroma is that of sweet hops, and is mild yet quite good. Flavor is quite smooth, yet a pleasing sweet citrus-y hopiness (like pineapple). Mouthfeel is not watery, but is a bit flat, but still pleasant. Taverner (893), San Ramon, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 17, 2009 Damn good IPA! The hop aroma is old world, spicy and musty. I love that aspect that is retains this must, yet doesn’t affect the flavor any. Pours amber brown with white head. Flavor is sweet, but not cloyingly. Definite contender for a Midwest IPA. kseecs16 (920), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 16, 2007 Bottle. Poured a beautiful dark amber with a thick off-white head, nice lacing. Floral cascade hops dominate the aroma with their sweetness. A slap of full sweet hops up front with a balanced bitterness. Fairly sweet tasting all around. Great creamy full body, bitterness lingers. mamabeer (39), Urbana, Illinois, USA
