Apr 27, 2004 Wonderful Cascade hop aroma. Taste is not excessively hoppy, it straddles the line between an IPA and APA. The weakness is in the malt: a little caramel flavour, but it otherwise thin and dull. Not bad, but doesn't top Anchor Liberty Ale, which it reminds me of. Thanks to slikwily for the bottle.

Feb 14, 2005 Nice hops, nice citrus/pine combo. Malt is a bit weak. Kind of sweet, sticky. Hearty indeed.

Jun 13, 2003 Beautiful copper brew with a thin lacy head. Surprising nose hinting at iced tea-ish qualities. Wow! Caramel notes hinting at toffee also.Medium full bodied with a silky palate.Nice little hop bitterness at the finish. Definitely leaning in the direction of an English style IPA. Actually this is a nice change of pace from the West Coast brews I have been drinking tonight. Thanks again to maxpower for this one.

Sep 27, 2002 absolutely zero head, deep golden/copper color. ok, i’m rerating this one early on...clearly i tried it too cold. there is a bit of floral aroma and the hops and malts in this one are quite well-balanced. i would call this a poor man’s Hop Devil...no offense.

Jul 11, 2003 Clear light copper body with small beige head. Aroma is moderately sweet, floral. Taste is mildly sweet, caramel, earthy, and slightly floral. Finish is mild, though there's a definite earthy aftertaste. Pleasant English-style IPA.

Poured amber/orange/slight copper in color with a large, creamy, dense, tan head that diminished but lasted throughout. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and light to medium bitter. Tastes of hops, pine, light caramel malts, slight hop oil, and a little citrus. Medium body. Smooth texture. Average carbonation. Hops, pine, and caramel finish is slightly sticky.

Dec 27, 2003 Bottle. A rich amber color with a tan head. An assertive but not overpowering hop aroma that teases the fresh cut grass and fresh hops that I enjoy in IPAs. Dry and bitter with a hop filled flavor that falls just short with the malts to make it a hearty IPA.
