Bottle. Big, fizzy, off-white head atop a clear amber body. Pleasant aroma of banana, cherry, toasted grain, earthiness, clove. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Lots of banana flavor with a tartness in the finish. Very clean and plenty going on in this 4.5% beer to keep it interesting.

bottle poured a transparent amber in color with a thick pillow of off white head. aroma has mild spices, banana yeast, some underlying sweet malts, and some pepper. mouth feel is on the light side and the carbonation a bit low in this bottle. flavor brings in some spices, nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, banana on the yeasty side, and a finish that was rather short. the head had excellent retention right down to the last sip. the style itself is not seen much so it is appreciated.

Purchased at Breeze Thru Liquors in Milwaukee, WI; enjoyed a couple of days prior to the holiday break. Appearance a rather clear dark copper with a rich off white head with tiny carbonation bubbles rising to the top. Aroma mostly malt, there is a spice backing, little bit of cinnamon, smells holiday like. Taste very smooth, really nice crisp bready/hay malt finish, retains that weiss like quality but more malty. Full bodied with medium carbonation, really nice easy drinker. Itís equally smooth and crisp, and itís above average in both of those qualities. For a lightish beer I canít think of many that would beat this. Definitely the best for its style.

This one was a beautiful dark orange, with a long lasting 2 finger head. The malt was reminiscent of brown sugar with a touch of cinnamon. This rolled easily past the tounge and was followed with just the right amount of citrusy hops to prick the tounge and finish cleanly enough. A very good example of the style.

12oz bottled 227th day of 2011 from GeneralGao--thanks Colin! Clear medium orange with a 1 1/2 finger dark yellow orangeish head, good retention. Aroma has a big amount of ripe yeasty banana--just a little spicy phenolics--with some wheat, toasted malts, and sweet caramel in equal amounts, depending on the whiff I take. Flavor is fairly sweet between the banana and caramel notes--not ungodly, by any means, but more than Iíd normally want--but the lightly toasted and wheat malts bring everything through to a dry finish, bitterness peaking at a 2. Lively prickly carbonation with a creamy light to medium body. Not bad, but not my favorite hefe from NG. I do admit Iím not much of a fan of the style, either.

Nobody makes a Weizen better than New Glarus. Pours beautifully with a pillowy head, brilliant copper-orange color.

This is one uniquely crisp, refreshing beer! I was impressed with the crisp aftertaste and malty finish for a beer this jubilant. The aroma is almost a bubble gummy type gummy bear feel to it...in an ever-striking pleansant fashion. I could call it floral with a hint of fruit or citrus, yet, thereís a certain malty finish that leaves no bitter aftertaste. Theyíve captured a unique style here with this krystalweitzen and I would agree that this is a beer unlike any other I can think of. The only drawback is the less than 5.0% ABV. I would like to see them add a little more ABV to this somehow.

12 oz bottle. Clear golden orange with a white head. Aroma of crisp wheat, hef yeast esters and some sweet caramel. Flavor is smooth, rich wheat malt with a lightly tart earthy yeast. Light body with active carbonation and a crisp refreshing mouth feel. Great beer, havenít had many of this style but this is by far the best Iíve had.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2011 Bottle @ home, courtesy of bnielsen13. Thanks Brad! Clear copper orange appearance with a big creamy, brown head. Dry wheat malty, a touch metallic, mild clove, lightly spicy, effervescent aroma. A touch tangy, mild orange citrusy, somewhat spicy, clove, dry, wheat malty flavor that again seems fairly metallic. Not a bad session beer but I far prefer its German counterparts.
