COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In playful pursuit of butterflies a Red Fox danced across the brewery hill. His joy so pure it bubbled through our hearts and into this beer. Laughing Fox is a sparkling Kristal Weizen brewed in the Bavarian tradition with 50% Wisconsin wheat in our open top fermenters. Tickle your nose notes of spicy clove and cinnamon abound. Dan’s inspired Weizen interpretation reflects the deep bittersweet color of our Fox’s red coat. Expect this beer to pour a lively effervescent glass thick with creamy foam and bursting with luscious fruity notes on your pallet. This is easy drinking beer perfect for a friendly Wisconsin evening. Relax, this is God’s Country, here we have the strength to reach for the stars and change the world.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2011 Bottle @ home, courtesy of bnielsen13. Thanks Brad! Clear copper orange appearance with a big creamy, brown head. Dry wheat malty, a touch metallic, mild clove, lightly spicy, effervescent aroma. A touch tangy, mild orange citrusy, somewhat spicy, clove, dry, wheat malty flavor that again seems fairly metallic. Not a bad session beer but I far prefer its German counterparts.

Bottle from Reilly’s in Madison. Pours a gigantic white head on light orange body. Retained one-half inch of head. Spicy, slightly yeasty aroma. Mouthfeel is a tad above average. Taste is spicy and catchy, a little yeasty. Nothing like I expected, it was most drinkable. Got good cinammon.

355mL thanks to dkachur. Stolen for myself after my birthday tasting. The pour is a clear Vienna amber with a towering, beige head. Big retention...webby lace. Looking awesome though much darker than you would expect for style. Nose is ester explosion, baked banana bread, fresh red apples, pretty typical hefe yeast notes though more "baked" character. Banana walnut, cinnamon. Taste is a bit cidery, red apple, pretty clean and quenching. I would expect something "breadier" and less apple forward. Pretty tough style to make and NG would be the top choice for an American brewery to do it, but SRM is off and red apple character could be considered a flaw.

Bottle courtesy of cbfobes. Thanks! Pours a crystal clear amber color with a large frothy white head. Decent head retention. Aroma of big clove notes, stone fruits, earthy notes, banana, caramel and a bit of smoke. Bit citrus and caramel in the taste, some stone fruits, banana, berries and a faint bit of smoke. Tart finish with a mild hoppiness. Medium bodied. Lively carbonation. Very well done.

bottle.
clear dark amber body, small white head.
soured grains and old, stale corn kernels in the nose.
touches of burnt leaves and milk and black pepper.
watery texturel; thin, light body.
seems like a sour mash wheat, honestly.
little intrigue.
