Moon Man is a seriously cool cat. Always comfortable in his own skin, he never tries too hard. So cool we named our "no coast" pale ale after him. You hold a session beer with a bright bold blend of five hops that flirt obligingly with the smooth malty backside. Don’t let this one lay around it is brewed to be enjoyed today. Bold and engaging without pretense, because in Wisconsin you do not have to be extreme to be real. Just be.

Sampled at The Stable’s Beer Lover’s Anonymous. Bottom of the bottle was cloudy but tom of it was clear. I got the bottom in my pour. A soapy white head. A soft earthy start with very soft hops and just as soft citrus fruit. There are bitter tart citrus with some spice. This beer is sweet and just doesn’t have a lot going on. The finish was nice, though.

Pours a nice light color, with a refreshing scent to the nose. Goes down nice and smooth with a pleasant after taste.

Pours a crisp clear orange with about a finger of a white, frothy head, slowly dissipating. Lots of great floral hops in the nose. A lighter hop taste than I would expect, but surprisingly deep and balanced. Some light citrus starts out, as it builds into a nice sweetness that fades into hop bitterness. I like this a lot better then the last 2 I tried from New Glarus. This and Fat Squirel so far are the 2 I liked best out of the 5 I have tried.

12 oz bottle. It pours a hazy gold with a big foamy white head. It has a really fresh hop character in the scent. It is lightly grassy with a bit of tropical fruit and pine. Pale malts are underneath. It is light tasting, too light, very grainy as per the style, the hops are a bit more interesting here than most but overall just very bland typical APA. It ain’t no Pride and Joy. Overall it is a bit of an oddity but for the most part it is typical low-flavor APA. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 03-20-2010 21:59:22

Aroma: mostly citrus hops, some toasty malt notes. Appearance: pours a clear, light golden color. Abundant white billowing head with good retention; some spotty lacing. Flavor: citrus and pine flavors from the hops, some resin/stickiness, toast/biscuit malts. The finish is a bit grassy, but this is minimal and dominated by nice malt and hop flavors. Well executed hop additions; ample hop flavor and aroma without overpowering bitterness, some bitter aftertaste but not at all unpleasant. Palate: medium body with medium-high carbonation. Nice session beer, very well balanced.

Pours a nice amber with a small head. Notes of spice from the hops on the nose dive into a mildy hoppy but yet finely malted beer. The finish drives more hops of this medium bodies brew.

Bottle courtesy of ughsmash. Pours gold with a lasting white head. Smells of perfum, wildflowers, earthy. Tastes of crisp malt, sage, peppery, light pine notes. Enjoyable.

Source: 12 oz bottle from local retailer. Aroma: Moderately powered smell to this beer. The hops smell is prominent, but I also smell a light bit of citrus. Appearance: Very clear pour, color is of light amber. Light white and bubbly head tops the pour. Taste: Hops come through first and foremost but are by no means overpowering. There’s a mildly sweet fruitiness that comes through as well. The two flavors sort of balance each other out and prevent bitterness or sweetness from taking over. Palate: Medium to medium-thin body on this one. Taste doesn’t exactly stick with you, though. Overall: A crisp and tasty "easy drinker". This is the kind of beer I’d want on a hot summer day.

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep gold with a fluffy bubbly head and slight bit of cloudiness. It smells hoppy and sweet with a little bit of a funk I can’t detect. Lightly carbonated. It’s light, crisp and refreshing with very mild citrus and floral undertones. Smooth with no aftertaste. Very good! A great beer to drink on a hot Texas day by the pool!

Thanks to my parents for bringing his back from a recent trip to Wisconsin. Pours a pale golden with slight haze. Good head retention and some really nice lacing. Nose brings a bit of citrus hops with a light bit of grain in the background. Taste is citrus with a bit of bitterness. Some slight grain in the back, but no real malt character. Feel is a bit light and undercarbonated. Tasty, but I preferred Hop Hearty and there are certainly better APAs out there. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-10-2010
