COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Moon Man is a seriously cool cat. Always comfortable in his own skin, he never tries too hard. So cool we named our "no coast" pale ale after him. You hold a session beer with a bright bold blend of five hops that flirt obligingly with the smooth malty backside. Don’t let this one lay around it is brewed to be enjoyed today. Bold and engaging without pretense, because in Wisconsin you do not have to be extreme to be real. Just be.

Smells of piney floral hops, with a note of peach in the back. It’s very light colored and a good take on an IPA.

UPDATED: NOV 30, 2011 Notes from June 06, 2010 12 oz. bottle from Woodman’s Madison, 6-pack for $6.99. Ar: I couldn’t ask for more in an APA. Huge fruity floral nose with tropical fruit (guava) notes. Ap: Pours a pale copper/straw with a modest 3/4" head that recedes rather quickly. Leaves a fair amount of lace. T: Nice fruity nose on this with a little bit of piney/floral hops on the finish. P: A bit thin, but not necessarily a bad thing in an APA like this. This is a wonderful session beer, and a great change of pace from West Coast pales. Rerate. Yeah, it’s still freakin’ delicious.

[Bottle] Pours a golden amber color with a slight haze to it. Dense white head and good looking lacing. A solid hoppy nose includes lots of citrus and some other fresh fruits. Moderate hop bitterness throughout in the taste. Also some biscuit and juniper. Great mouthfeel and palate. A well made and very drinkable brew.

Tasted from bottle purchased at Discount Liquors. Pours clear light orange with a thick white head that displays excellent retention. The nose is a great blend of caramelized bread malt, orange peel hops bitterness, and just a hint of yeastiness as well. The flavor is dominated by orange. Everything from orange peel to fresh orange juice comes through beautifully. There is also the addition of caramelized malt and some good bitterness on the back of the palate. The body is light with lively carbonation and a light but long bitter orange finish.

12 oz bottle. Pours a bright gold with a decent head. Aroma is insane amounts of marigold flowers, earthy, spicy, floral, cardamon, fruity hops, with citrus and grapefruit zest- weedy dandelion and oily resin in a light crackery malt backbone. Flavor is more marigold flowers, spices, phenolic, floral hops, tea, citrus, orange, weedy, waxy and lotus flower. Clean finish and pretty decent overall- just very strange and unique.

Bottle. Pours a clear glowing golden orange with a fine fizzy white head. Gorgeous strong piney citrus aroma, big orange and pine needle, super clean smelling, light sweetness. Flavor follows, very clean, big orange and pine needles, very clean, light malt backbone, well attenuated but a slight candy aftertaste is left, little malt profile, diet-soda ish in the sense that it seems like something is missing, just a lovely orange hop flavor, medium bitterness in the aftertaste, quick finish. Amarillo and cascade? Great body, well attenuated, fizzy carbonation, clean, now stickiness, easy drinking for sure.

12 oz bottle given to me by my sister as part of a New Glarus mixed 12 pack. Pour is slight hazed golden yellow with a nice one inch white head. Head falls slow, with pretty lacing. Aroma is citrus rind, a bit of cattiness, and a nice malty resin. Fresh and balanced nose. Taste has more bitterness than the nose, starting right away with resin citrus peel, along with some grapefruit and a dry malt finish. There is a nice transition between the flavors. Nicely put together. The palate is medium to thin, nice bright carbonation and the dry finish which just begs for another sip. I really liked this one, thanks sis!

Enjoyed on draft while having lunch at the Glarner Stube in New Glarus, WI. Aroma consists of hops and orange peel. Appearance is cloudy yellow, small head. Taste hoppy, crisp, very refreshing. This is very similar to the Stone Pale Ale, really really enjoyed it.

Golden beer with a foamy off white head. Very sharp pine and grapefruit zest hop nose. The body strikes me as thinner than the nose would suggest. Lots of hops in here, with pine, grapefruit juice and some candied orange rind. This is definitely a hop focused beer, and for the hop head, this is quite enjoyable.

Clear golden body with an average white head. Wow, I really love the fruity citrus flavor and the hops clearly stand out here. I can’t for the life of me remember the last Pale Ale that has wowed me. This is another gem in the New Glarus lineup. Very impressive session like ale that I could drink over and over.
