Moon Man is a seriously cool cat. Always comfortable in his own skin, he never tries too hard. So cool we named our "no coast" pale ale after him. You hold a session beer with a bright bold blend of five hops that flirt obligingly with the smooth malty backside. Donít let this one lay around it is brewed to be enjoyed today. Bold and engaging without pretense, because in Wisconsin you do not have to be extreme to be real. Just be.

Beautiful aroma that smells strongly of citrus. Pours golden and has a nice hint of orange that cuts through the hops.

Had it out of a bottle from Woodmans grocery store in Kenosha Wisconsin. Poured a golden clear hue with a thin white head that lasted and a mild malt/hop taste. The taste is a very smooth and bland hop taste. Eh.

Tasted from a 12oz. bottle. It poured a clear golden color with a quickly dissipating head. Light hop aroma with a slightly bitter finish.

April 20th, 2012 - New Glarus is a far away place from everywhere Iíve lived, but Iím no stranger to the alluring intoxicants coming out of the self same brewery. Oddly, though, Iíve only tried their popular and rather limited beers, like the Belgian Red. Perhaps these have unfairly twisted my thinking about New Glarus. It is possible, I think, that everything they make is up to the very high standard of their fruit beers. But to be honest, Iíve never tried any of their more common brews, or those that come in six-packs. Whereas Iíve had their fruit beers at tastings, my friends from the Midwest have never heard of them. But talk about Moon Man? Youíd think that was a food group to be enjoyed at most meals. But after a bottleís worth of tasting, I can see why. It emanates a lovely, biscuity aroma, touched with a tinge of grapefruit bitterness, and made slightly sticky with some piney hops. The flavor is light, even delicate, with a soft astringency, more grapefruit and a touch of dryness invoked by flavors of wheat. Itís mild mannered and well mannered, and a nice demonstration of how to make a hoppy beer that doesnít cut the drinkerís face with vorpal hops.

A gift from a friend that has an account but doesnít use it. Not a huge fan of IPAís but this is an exception. Has the typical IPA characteristics but no bad aftertaste. Also it has a better appearance with some lacing and a bit of head.

Pour from bottle at Tyler Yaegers in Rothschild. Pours rich gold with lasting off white head. Not that great, a soft hoppy brew with citrus sweetish notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A - drank from the bottle. Fluffy head. S - piney, citrus zest and soap lead the nose. The caramel malts roll around with biscuity notes as well. M - so light and drinkable. A really nice smooth pale. Nice carb and a nice bitter bite up front and a great mellowed end. T - pine needles and sweet grapefruit lead the way. With a nice soapy notes, the palate rolls to smooth caramel malts and biscuity malts. The end is tropical fruit and citrus. O - such a nice round pale. 3.6

12 oz. bottle thanks to queenholly. Transparent gold with lasting head retention. Aroma is nice, floral and pine hops. Favors displays the floral hops upfront, pale malts provide a bready base. Citrus and hints of pine hops round off the flavors. Light lingering bitterness. Itís a tad on the simple side, yet tasty and well made nevertheless.

This bottle bombed. Very cloudy lemon. Nose is very weak, minor piney and floral. Taste is interesting, honey, lemon and sweet. Another easy drinker from new glares. Would make a good fishing beer.

Bottle from the sample pack. Honestly, didnít know what to think of this, but when my wife and I tried the first bottle it was a fight for the rest. Golden pour smells of big citrus, orange, and lightly sweet malts. Taste shows a bit of tropical notes on top of the citrus. Really freaking nice pale ale. Could drink all damn day. Just well balance and big flavor for a 5%.
