Moon Man is a seriously cool cat. Always comfortable in his own skin, he never tries too hard. So cool we named our "no coast" pale ale after him. You hold a session beer with a bright bold blend of five hops that flirt obligingly with the smooth malty backside. Don’t let this one lay around it is brewed to be enjoyed today. Bold and engaging without pretense, because in Wisconsin you do not have to be extreme to be real. Just be.

Bottle from bytemesis pours a clear golden color with two fingers. Fragrant aroma, floral with spruce. Flavor is similar but very light, not much malt to speak of, like the memory of an IPA. I am torn on this one. It has great flavors but the lightness makes it underwhelming.

Bottle pour light gold. Nose mango and pine but mostly fruit hop. Sweet bitter up front. Some aromatic hop early. Mid palate bitter the malt. Light bitter finish.

One of my New favorite beers. This beer is packed with flavor... You can taste the hoppiness, but with very little bitterness. Very similar to Boulevards 80 Acre. I drank it from the bottle... so not much to comment on the appearance.

Beautiful aroma that smells strongly of citrus. Pours golden and has a nice hint of orange that cuts through the hops.

Had it out of a bottle from Woodmans grocery store in Kenosha Wisconsin. Poured a golden clear hue with a thin white head that lasted and a mild malt/hop taste. The taste is a very smooth and bland hop taste. Eh.

Tasted from a 12oz. bottle. It poured a clear golden color with a quickly dissipating head. Light hop aroma with a slightly bitter finish.

April 20th, 2012 - New Glarus is a far away place from everywhere I’ve lived, but I’m no stranger to the alluring intoxicants coming out of the self same brewery. Oddly, though, I’ve only tried their popular and rather limited beers, like the Belgian Red. Perhaps these have unfairly twisted my thinking about New Glarus. It is possible, I think, that everything they make is up to the very high standard of their fruit beers. But to be honest, I’ve never tried any of their more common brews, or those that come in six-packs. Whereas I’ve had their fruit beers at tastings, my friends from the Midwest have never heard of them. But talk about Moon Man? You’d think that was a food group to be enjoyed at most meals. But after a bottle’s worth of tasting, I can see why. It emanates a lovely, biscuity aroma, touched with a tinge of grapefruit bitterness, and made slightly sticky with some piney hops. The flavor is light, even delicate, with a soft astringency, more grapefruit and a touch of dryness invoked by flavors of wheat. It’s mild mannered and well mannered, and a nice demonstration of how to make a hoppy beer that doesn’t cut the drinker’s face with vorpal hops.

A gift from a friend that has an account but doesn’t use it. Not a huge fan of IPA’s but this is an exception. Has the typical IPA characteristics but no bad aftertaste. Also it has a better appearance with some lacing and a bit of head.

Pour from bottle at Tyler Yaegers in Rothschild. Pours rich gold with lasting off white head. Not that great, a soft hoppy brew with citrus sweetish notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
