Commercial Description:
Since 1516 Brewers have led the purity revolution. They mandated only four natural ingredients be used to brew beer. This Reinheistgebot law was the first ever food purity regulation and New Glarus Brewmaster Dan Carey has consistently respected our palates by employing yeast, water, barley and hops to explore a wide spectrum of flavor. Today Dan pushes the purity envelope by using Organic Hallertau Hops from Germany with Wisconsin organically malted barley to create a complex and assertively hoppy golden ale. This beer is even natrually carbonated, 100% bottle fermented means you can expect a flavor celebration to dance cleanly across your palate. Raise your glass and toast to Wisconsin’s common sense Revolution.

Bottle. Slightly foggy, dark golden pour with a thin head. Faint aroma of sweet malt. Pleasant flavor of sweet malt and bitter hop. Slight flavor of alcohol in the finish. Carbonation provides a nice bite. Nothing too exciting, but a very drinkable beer.

12 oz bottle. Pours a light amber/gold color with a small white head that laces very nicely. Aroma is very nice. Very muted but pleasant. There’s a bit of maltiness in the front that’s finished off by just a subtle touch of hop presence. Nice smooth flavor made up of citrus and lemon flavor with a slight hop bitterness at the end. There is no real lingering aftertaste, it gives you just enough flavor to satisfy and then it’s gone. This beer is wonderful and should be the bar for all organic beers.

This bright golden-orange coloured brew has a light, bubbly, slightly-hopped mouthfeel. A touch of citrus fruit- orange and lemon flavors in particular. The initial taste is at first a soft pinch of bitter hops, but it slowly slides into a tiny, sugary like sweetness. Then before you know it, the flavor is gone and it is time for another sip to remind you of the past. The process is repeated until the beer is gone. Which makes you wonder after the first bottle, is there something more to this story? Is the end of this first beer an introduction to the second stage? And if so, what is the second stage going to tell you? You are left wondering if there is something more to be found. And if there is, should you try to ind it? Maybe this is just the beginning...of the organic revolution......

Pours cloudy dark yellow. Aroma - faint pine hops. Light and crsip with some hop bitterness. Non-descript. Somewhat disappointing for this top-notch Wisconsin brewer.

Pours orange with a thin white head. Aroma is fairly uneventful, some sweet malt, flavor is of mild citrus and grains, slightly sweet, slightly bitter.

Smells almost like weak cider. Cloudy golden look. Solid but non-discript taste until a bitter finish. Interesting but not great.

Thin head of dense bubbles. Recedes sort of quickly. Malty aroma with some oranges, yeast and light grains. Color is a brownish orange. Pretty light bodied with lots of citrus flavors, some roasted grains, a bit of smoke late swallow and more grainy notes. Some sweetness. Kind of generic in flavor. Not bad but nothing really inspirational. Little bit of hops bitterness at the finish. Little bit of alcohol tingle on the gums also. I wonder what the ABV is for this one.
