Commercial Description:
Since 1516 Brewers have led the purity revolution. They mandated only four natural ingredients be used to brew beer. This Reinheistgebot law was the first ever food purity regulation and New Glarus Brewmaster Dan Carey has consistently respected our palates by employing yeast, water, barley and hops to explore a wide spectrum of flavor. Today Dan pushes the purity envelope by using Organic Hallertau Hops from Germany with Wisconsin organically malted barley to create a complex and assertively hoppy golden ale. This beer is even natrually carbonated, 100% bottle fermented means you can expect a flavor celebration to dance cleanly across your palate. Raise your glass and toast to Wisconsin’s common sense Revolution.

Pours a clear amber with a small head. Sweet and somewhat malty. Fruity hoppy notes. Almondy notes. Kind of tastes organic(?). Medium to thin bodied. High carbonation. Bitter citric finish.

Golden-amber, cloudy, with frothy white head. Citrus and biscuit aroma. Citrus, sweet malt balance, and biscuit flavours. Balanced, sessionable, with mild bitter finish. .

Bottle from Discount Liquor, Milwaukee, WI. Hazy light orange amber with small, quikly dissipating head. Aroma is grainy caramel malt with sublte spicy hops. Flavor is caramel and nuttiness in the front with some citrus, spicy and (slight) bubblegum hops. Medium to full body that is well carbonated. Overall an easy drinking and nice APA. I’ll even give it an extra point for being organic.

Small pour (approximately 3 oz.), on tap at Gitchee Gumee Brewfest in Superior, WI on 4-5-08. This was the last of 12 beers that I rated (out of about 20 total beers that I tried). After this point, less than halfway through the festival, I thought my palate was shot, and I wanted to enjoy the festival on another level. Pours a gold, almost orange color. Very little smell, but that which is present is nice and floral. Honey, floral, fruity (especially strawberry) flavor. Lightly dry finish. Pleasant taste, but there’s not much to it. Light body. Refreshingly crisp in the palate, almost like a lager.

12 oz bottle via Mys Swap 3.0 (thanks monger!). This one is a clear amber with an average head the quickly turns to anti-matter. Nose is malty and herbal. Taste is simple malts and some subtle hops. Body is light with a watery finish. Carbonation is medium. Sorry for the generic review, but this is a generic unflavorful beer, so not much to describe....how do you describe a new pair of white socks from k-mart? Don’t care for this much, even as a backyard beer.

12oz bottle. Pours amber with average size head, semi-cloudy in appearance. Aroma is on the sweeter side with citrus (lemon) and honey evident. Flavors not overpowering, definitely on the sweet side.

Exicted for this, so it was kind of a let down. Still good, just kind of bland and uninspiring. Hops are too acrid, body is too weak, carbonation is too strong. But it is organic... but does this mean organic gets a break because its "better" for the world?
