Clear golden body shows a touch of amber and a small white head with poor retention.
Good dose of brett in the nose shows the expected limeskin, light band-aid and some lighter nectarine-like fruitiness. Thereís plenty of malt behind it showing cereal character, light honey and a touch of vanilla-tinged caramel. No flaws, and just a touch of oxidation.
In the mouth itís lightly oxidized, but it just comes off as a light caramel-bread character. Tartness is definitely low, but present, adding light fruitiness, floral notes and various tart acids (lemon and very light acetic notes). Some earthiness and more cereal/bread character. Carbonation is low but very tight, helping give it still a pinch vibrancy. Well-made beer, would be curious to try the newer version. No alcohol or flaw noted.

(From notes, 26 March, 2016) 500 ML bottle thanks to Adamchan for sharing! Pour lighting at Clarks house, it looks almost clear gold in color, some carbonation. Aroma of dusty basement, older brett culture, and apple skins.
This is pretty tasty for the age of it. Soft floral hints upfront turning into a vinous note with mild traces of funk. Maybe a trace of oxidation, something slightly amuck. Nothing off putting, has to be oxidation. The mouthfeel still has carbonation which is nice. The texture isnít bone dry but dry without a doubt. Honestly I like it more than I thought I was going to.

Poured from bottle thanks AdamChandler reddish brown with no head. Aromas of funk oak clove brett. Taste is tart fruit oak wine.

Bottle. Pour is hazy light orange/yellow with a moderate white head that stays for a while. Aroma and flavor of oak, brett, clove spice, hay, barnyard, and light fruit. Finish is sour with some belgian spice notes coming through.

"wow...some polarizing scores here...mid range 4ís...and a 1? Honestly, I cant see either. i love new glarus, but maybe they are slipping a little, if only because their bar has been set so high. this light golden ale seems like a typical golden draped in horseblanket. i like brett so itís not offensive, but outside the brett, there was nothing else. possibly my least favorite NG beer to date."

16 oz bottle given to me by Dan Carey himself of New Glarus Brewing at the Rare Beer Tasting at GABF í09 (September 25, 09) Pours a hazy light golden orange color with wisp of head focused on rim. Aroma of brettanomyces and slight sweetness. Flavor is sweet Belgian golden ale with slight brett tang and crisp sour apple notes. Lovely.

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Ed. Super cloudy golden body; foamy white head that slowly lumps into a chunky collar. Lots of gummy yeast in the aroma, very Belgian-like with hits of clove & esters. Sine mild green apple sourness may be the only indication of Brett on the nose. Taste is also heavy yeast with a hint of spice, clove, maybe mint, a touch of hay. Esters, gum, & baked bread come together in a relatively dry finish. Not much tartness, if any, in the flavor. Just a hint of fruit zest. A good beer, although I did expect a little more.

2009 bottle. This is golden, slightly hazed anc cloudy w/ a fine bubbled head. At this point it si getting a big oxidized and nutty. Itís a little sweet and nice and drinkable. I would have loved to try this when it was younger and more hop-forward. As it is, it is a very much malt-centric brew, which is great, but it doesnít seem like age has made it any better.

Aroma is honestly quite muted. Only hints of floral notes and a light Brett note. Brett is cherry with a touch of barnyard.
Pours a fairly cloudy golden orang with a pillowy white head that has fairly good retention. Small head persists with moderate lacing as well.
Flavor is a bit better, but the malt still tastes stale at this point in time. Light pineapple and cherry notes from the Brett. Medium low bitterness. A bit of a floral, woody note in the flavor with hints of phenolics. A light honey note in the finish. A mineral note from the water is also noticeable.
Mouthfeel is medium full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and fairly low alcohol warmth.
Overall a surprisingly underwhelming beer. Iím not sure if its the age or something else, but this beer doesnít have much character to it. Stale and slightly oxidized. Brett character hasnít come on strong enough to make up for the age.

[Backlog] Bottle shared with brendan. Pours a light golden body with active white head. Aroma is soft floral notes, brett, barnyard funk and light crisp malt. Mouthfeel is prickly with carbonation, medium-feel, with notes of funk, cheese, sour pale malt, lemon and brett. Very nice - I would really love to try this again.
