Bold floral bouquet sweeps forward, encouraged by the Maris Otter Malt. Ale and Brettanomyces promote complex Brett characters. Dry finish. Alive and still fermenting, this bottle will continue to build carbonation. Pour with care. Brewed 3-23-09. Bottled 6-18-09.

Bottle received via trade with TheBeerSommelier. Pours hazy orange with a medium, fizzy off-white head, medium retention with spare lacing. Aroma is phenolic yeast, grape and vinous notes, Brettanomyces and cracker malt with stale hops. Flavor is Brettanomyces and phenols, light vinous and grape notes, pear and apple with supporting malt, light hops and bitterness and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation.

I started off really liking this in the first couple sips but it became a bit nausiating after a while. Way too much brett character. Tastes like a hampster cage and flowers which you would think would deserve a lower rating but i liked the first few sips just couldnt handle much more.

2012-08-18. Hazy bright orange body with a nice beige head. 3+ very must aroma, sort of grassy and funky - brett? 7++ Flavour is similar, musty, dry sort of bretty character, mild malt. 7++ Average bodied palate. Bit simple at times but pretty enjoyable. Bottle, Campground Brewdown 2012

Opened with caution - enjoyed an R&D bottle with lunch today. Color on pour was great - a golden orange with a nice white head. The aroma was very wild - smelled of the fair/barnyard and lemon zest. Taste is hoppy and earthy with some wet hay flavor. Creamy and not very carbonated, it is not overly dry despite the hops flavor. A surprising beer, but tasty.

Sample from sherm1016 500 ml bottle...thanks. My second Brett beer tonight but completely different. Complex is a good word for this...flowery taste upfront with dry palate / feel at the end. Need more!

barnyard story. Very funky aroma, barnyard on steroids. Significant foaming. Very much smooth soapy lace, and lots of soapy head. The taste is barnyard, socks, wet rag, detergent, straw, corn, peas. Smooth mouthfeel, though mildly acidic in finish. A dramatically different golden. FlandersNed.

Bottle shared by Chaney. Thanks Brandon! Batch 160BBL Brewed 23 May 2009 Bottled 18 June 2009 A: Hazy, light orange color with a large bubbly head that leaves a thick coat of lacing on the glass. S: A really terrific aroma with scents of Belgian yeast, funk, gueuze-like characteristics. T: Nice brettanomyces character with some pleasant funk and spices in the mix as well. The beer smells better than it tastes, but I do really enjoy the flavor. The beer has a nice sourness, though itís not super tart or puckering by any means. M: Good feel, appropriate carbonation, alcohol hidden very well. D: A really good brew. I would drink this anytime. Recommended. I am really glad I got to try this one again. Previously, I had a 1 oz. sample at a tasting and really enjoyed it. Iíve been looking forward to enjoying a healthy pour of this beer ever since. Possibly my favorite offering from New Glarus.

Hazy peach colored pour. Nose of tart wheat and bread, with the flavor bring more of that lemon acidity, grain, touches of stone fruit. Almost like a berliner weiss, but iím not really impressed.
