500ml bottle purchased over GTMW weekend... pours a coppery mostly opaque hued pour, allowing some light to pass through, while topped with a frothy white head that subsides to a thin wispy ring around the edges of the glass... aroma of subdued earthy green sour apple and cherries with hints of soft funky undertones which become increasingly prominent after warming to room temp. woody spice accents surface and fade in the background ... flavors are more in line with a slightly semi-sharp vinegar-like sour brown base and finishes off with an earthiness. soft funk profile throughout and drinkable. carbonation is fairly lively and prickly at times. it certainly opens up after awhile displaying a truer-sense and more akin to a lambic-like base. level of sourness is just right without being overbearing or too flabby in nature. solid and enjoyable.

Thank you, my friend!!! Sincere ’cheers’ to you and yours. Clear bronze, whisper-ring of a head, ephemeral lacing. Autumn leaves, fresh goat-milk yogurt, homemade apple cider vinegar, and wholesome malt ... all rolled up into a sublimely funky ’rind’, and then cradled in a blanket of lemon-like tartness. The perpetually evolving, lingering finish is a real joy as the malt gently ricochets off notes of hardy oak and wild yeast. How much fun is this? Only 5.4% ... how lovely.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2012 500ml bottle split with Anndiesel. Unfiltered, cloudy orange-tan. Thin, patchy white head. I’m not really so impressed with the aroma, lots of barnyard aroma I guess. The overall flavor is really nice though and quite authentic. Broad sour tones..not as one dimensional as some other quality American examples. A really memorable and exceptional beer. Has a touch of malt depth under the huge sour tones..maybe traces of the Crackd red wheat. This beer is awesome!

500 ml bottle brought back from New Glarus by dbsdelight- thanks again, Dan! Pours a cloudy orange-gold color with an off-white head. Aroma of apples, fresh flowers and herbs, oak, grape skins, lemon juice, brown sugar, and sourdough. Flavor of apples, grapes, herbs, oak, funk, yogurt, and plenty of floral notes. Light-medium bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sour mouthfeel that dries late. Solid sour. Liked this one.

Awesome beer supplied by an awesome dude, CanIHave4Beers. Cheers, Andy! Pour is reddish orange with a slight white head. Nose of tart cherries and cherry skins, lemony acidity, some oak and earthy notes. Tastes sour as promised. Nice and balanced while still being super tart.

TURDFERGUSON (3574) - Carrboro, North Carolina, USA - OCT 4, 2012
Bottle, Big thanks to durhambeer for sharing this rare beer with JCB and I, TURDFERGUSON. Pours orange reddish with a light off white sudsy head, light lace. Nose is tart red fruits, lemon, fairly clean acidity, light oak, leathery funk. Flavor is puckering up front, more fruity tartness, lemon acidity and light dust in the finish. Well made and an improvement over the last sour beer I had from them.

500 ml bottle
I wish I had more than a single bottle left. This is an excellent sour that is just as good as anything you will find from Lost Abbey, Upland, Destihl’s, or the other breweries working on perfecting the art. Maybe it is the air in southern Wisconsin, the skills of the brewer, or both, but this is world class.

Aroma / Appearance - The radiant orange body and soft ivory head look a bit like tart Slice. Bubbly carbonation rises with active energy. Vinegar soaked oranges are intense and dry. In the background lemons and other citrus aspects support the intensity within.

Flavor / Palate - Dry sour oranges rub the tongue with a gritty intensity. Sharp and acidic this doesn’t even attempt a measure of subtlety. Lemon sorbet hangs in the back of the throat as it clears away a full day of other flavors. Hopefully you have two - one to enjoy now and one to savor in a few years.
