Pours a very dark red color with small, fizzy head. Aroma is strong with raspberries. Taste weighs hevaily on the raspberries taking out any malt or hop flavor. Itís hard to imagine this actually being beer! Itís quite tasty, but if youíre not too keen on raspberries, itíd be disgusting.

Tons of raspberry in this one. Light purple/deep red pour with a small pinkish purple head. Flavor and aroma are strong in raspberry. Very sweet with some tartness.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Opague burgundy, medium mauve head. (What the hell is mauve?), aroma of tartness and papery stale hops. What can I say that hasnít been said before? The mouthfeel is lovely, aroma simplistic but savory, the taste let me down a bit, more a fucntion of the red raspberries used (which I donít like as much as the black kind), than any actual flaw of the beer. Thanks GrainBeltGuzzler!

Dark purple with a purple head and some lacing. Aromas of tart raspberries and musky malts. Kind of surprised me with how good it was. Flavors. Oh yeah, good stuff. Sour and barnyard. Raspberries, brown sugar, and musky. Fluffy palate, thick body finishing tart and dry.

Nice purple head covered the dark crimson red pour. Beautiful lacing covered the glass. The head dissapated very quickly and just left the aroma of a raspberry pie. Just like grandma used to make, crust and all. This brew makes you want to grab a fork and eat it. Taste was very tart and very raspberry! Smell matched the taste perfectly and made this a wonderful brew. Thanks BŁck Dich! Happy Birthday!

Thick bright ruby red with crimson edges. The head & lacing is like purple grenade, everywhere. The aroma is like sweet boysenberry syrup, raspberry, tart, one dimensional aroma but thatís what it said. The flavor is so good with sweet raspberry & light tart musky clean malt & raspberry. Good! Very sweet fruit beer but so much more present than usual. Thanks Slikwily!

A very interesting "beer" that, in my taxonomic opinion, might be better served under a non-beer status. But as it is, this is a real pleasant beverage. There is no doubting the raspberry nature of this concoction. In fact, that is about all you can taste. The color is dark ruby red and looks very much like a wine. The aroma is raspberry and sweetness. The flavor, however, is quite sour (not shit itís called "tart") but not puckeringly so. Tastes like an unripe raspberry. This drink has a big reputation. And while I did enjoy it, it just tasted like expensive Purple Passion to me. Good, for what IT is, but what is IT and whereís the beer?

Bottle. Really nice pour. Dark burgundy with a thin retentive pink head. Nose is sweet and of strong raspberry. The flavor notes are berry (of course), malt, and quite sweet. There is a slightly bitter taste that is very pleasant. There is almost no hint of alcohol. The finish is a little dry and bitter (in a very good way). There really isnít anything that I can say about this that has not already been said. It is definitely worthy of its high ranking and accolades and is a must try. Thanks to Kevin42 for bringing this back from Wisconsin.
