The voluminous raspberry bouquet will greet you long before your lips touch your glass. Serve this Wisconsin framboise very cold in a champagne flute. Then hold your glass to a light and enjoy the jewel-like sparkle of a very special ale. Oregon proudly shares their harvest of mouth-watering berries, which we ferment spontaneously in large oak vats. Then we employ Wisconsin farmed wheat and year old Hallertau hops to round out this extravaganza of flavor.

Bottle, poured into a flute. Fruitty raspberry aroma, sweet raspberry flavor. Was never a fan of fruit beers but this one has me rethinking that.

Bottle share in 2013. Pour is deep red with a small pink head. Aroma is raspberry puree and sour berries. Flavor is sweet and tart - raspberries, acidic, tart. Great.

Sample at Ale Alpharetta. Pours a hazy reddish-brown, with practically no head. The aroma is overwhelmingly raspberries. I struggle to come up with any other way to describe the aroma, except maybe some light caramel and wheat in the background. Heavy, fruity sweetness, and nicely tart. Medium body, sticky, sharp, and acidic. This is the way fruit beers should be done!

Bottle is probably 3 - 4 years old. Aroma is dominated by a raspberry jam character. Some light malt character in the background supporting the jam notes. Some light tartness. Pours a murky, copper-brown with some amber hues and a medium sized, tan head of medium light thickness. Recedes fairly quickly to the edges where it lingers for a bit before disappearing. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor starts with a fairly strong sweetness and a moderate raspberry jam character. Like the aroma there is a medium light pale malt and faint chocolate background character. Faint bitterness with some light tartness. Really tastes a lot like liquid jam. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall a very sweet, jammy beer with tons of raspberry flavor and aroma. Light malt background notes and faint tartness. A beer for non beer people.

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2014 Tart, sugary-sweet aroma. Very clean sourness as well. Pours a burgundy red color with thin white head. Taste is of wild raspberries and is wonderful! The sweetness is balanced perfectly with sourness. If you live near Wisconsin you need to get your hands on any of the New Glarus fruit sours.

Strong raspberry aroma. Smootg texture. Very rich fruit raspberry flavour. Very sweet. A little to sweet for my liking.

I could smell this beer all day. Fresh raspberries, slightly herbal, oak, and a little cough syrup. Sharp acidity, fruit sugars, herbal funk, and oak leave you wanting more and more. Probably one of the best framboise’s I’ve ever had.
