The voluminous raspberry bouquet will greet you long before your lips touch your glass. Serve this Wisconsin framboise very cold in a champagne flute. Then hold your glass to a light and enjoy the jewel-like sparkle of a very special ale. Oregon proudly shares their harvest of mouth-watering berries, which we ferment spontaneously in large oak vats. Then we employ Wisconsin farmed wheat and year old Hallertau hops to round out this extravaganza of flavor.

Pour Murky/hazy brown/red, with a deliciously-looking frothy off-white head. Aroma is really delicious, with lots and lots of raspberry. Fruit gum, sour sweets, slight green apples with some tart to it. The taste is slightly sweet upfront, with a nice amount of sourness to it, and faint bitter notes. Average bodied, with a slightly fizzy carbonation. I really did enjoy this.

Let’s face it, this is about as good of a fruit beer as you can get with only the current defunct Belgian Red to rival it. This pours a cloudy, reddish color with a fizzy light pink head. The aroma erupts with the scent of sweet raspberries. The taste is amazing with sweet delicious raspberries. Only downside is that you really do need a drinking buddy otherwise 1 bottle is way too much sweetness for 1 person alone.

Bottle from Woodman’s Onalaska. Pours ruby red with an inch of white foam. Leaves some lacing in the glass. Massive raspberry notes on the nose. Lots of fruit on the tongue. It’s flavorful while feeling natural. Sweet without being cloying. Taste lingers a long time. Fantastic!

Bottle split with DiarmaidBHK - pours clearish ruby with a nice pillowy peachy tan head. The taste is just right. Tart without being cloying or aggressive about it. Makes me want to fly to Wisconsin to get some more! Very tasty!

UPDATED: JUL 21, 2014 2-year old 750ml bottle. BIG thanks to beerpig317 for sharing his last bottle with me! Slightly reddish brown color. Thin beige head. Super good tart raspberry smell. Carbonated raspberries and oak. Makes my mouth water. Moderate sweet taste, not cloying, with a big tart raspberry finish. Aftertaste is like I just inhaled a mouthful of raspberries. Lightly syrupy, but a bit dry in the finish. Palate buzzes with tart raspberries long after each sip. Super good, flavorful stuff. 9/4/8/4/16

Re-rate, 7/20/14: Bottle, thanks to beerpig317 for sharing. I mistakenly thought I hadn’t rated this yet, intended it to be my 6K rate. Clear red color. Off-white head. Loose lace. Great color. Awesome big raspberry taste. Kind of syrupy, lightly spicy in a raspberry way. Moderate tart taste, moderate sweet. Medium-plus body. Kind fo slick syrupy texture. Some creme. Awesome raspberry fruit beer. Would have been a great one for 6K. Tarra tasted it, too sour for her. 8/4/8/4/15 [aroma score lowered 1 pt]

Bottle thanks to adnielsen ! Pours a muddy rust color with a finger or two of eggshell foam. The nose is pure raspberry, touch of vanilla and old barrel notes. The palate is full of ripe juicy berry goodness; cherry, raspberry.. nice tartness leads into a subtle bitterness on the finish.

Aroma of fresh fruit. Appearance was not what I was expecting...nice amber red, with tan head. Beautiful raspberry sweetness, that balances nicely at the end with tartness. Finishes nice an refreshing.

Raspberry tart is awesome. It is not like any beer, even a lambic. The acidity is nice but not beyond accessible. Fruit character is intense but also complex and developed. It seems slightly aged and has what appear to be secondary characteristics. Although the acidity may not be high enough for extended aging, I’d really like to hold on to a few of these to see what happens over time. I’d wager they get more interesting over 3-5 years.

Bottle as pictured. Thanks again to Adam Jackson.Tart berry notes, raspberry puree, lots of berry sweetness that covers up anything else. No artificial fruit at all. Well balanced. Yet the texture is really sticky and syrupy. Really awesome dessert brew and I understand why everybody goes totally crazy for it. High end of the fruit beer style. Easy to drink a fruit beer this well developed.
