The voluminous raspberry bouquet will greet you long before your lips touch your glass. Serve this Wisconsin framboise very cold in a champagne flute. Then hold your glass to a light and enjoy the jewel-like sparkle of a very special ale. Oregon proudly shares their harvest of mouth-watering berries, which we ferment spontaneously in large oak vats. Then we employ Wisconsin farmed wheat and year old Hallertau hops to round out this extravaganza of flavor.

Pours a very cool dark ruby red with a pink tinged one finger head. The head fades fairly quickly to a thin swirling cap and ring, leaving behind a thin wispy lace. Smell; there’s a huge tart raspberry aroma, which is no surprise, but there’s also a bit of a sweet sugary presence underneath that. Otherwise there’s not much else going on in the aroma department. Taste; as with the nose, and to be expected, there’s big tart raspberry flavor. A little bit of some sweetness come through the tartness, as well as a mild hint of some caramel and cherries. The sweet and tart flavors seem to flow back and forth very nicely, and make this probably the best fruit beer that I’ve had so far. Mouthfeel is full bodied, and leaves a thick coating in my mouth after each sip, and the drinkability is really good, as the beer is just disappearing before my eyes.

750ml bottle. Huge thanks to RobertDale via six bottle shipper across America. Pours a dark reddish amber color with a small fizzy off white head. Aroma of sweet and tart fresh raspberries, and hint of funk. Taste is delicious and refreshing. Fresh sweet raspberry purée, followed by a slight tartness, and hints of funk. Soo good!!

Looks amazing! light red with solid foam. Aroma is sugary raspberry confectionery. Taste is raspberry lollies with sherbert inside. Fizzy. Ashen quality to finish. Definitely a sipper. Too sweet for me but good fun.

750 ml bottle from a trade. Thanks Al! Loads of fresh raspberries on the nose. Almost like raspberry soda. Taste is jammy sweet with some light malt backbone and tartness coming through.

Thanks to Weezel for trying this one. A solid sour beer where the raspberry dominates more than the sour. Nice and mild.

Bottle, poured into a flute. Fruitty raspberry aroma, sweet raspberry flavor. Was never a fan of fruit beers but this one has me rethinking that.

Bottle share in 2013. Pour is deep red with a small pink head. Aroma is raspberry puree and sour berries. Flavor is sweet and tart - raspberries, acidic, tart. Great.

Sample at Ale Alpharetta. Pours a hazy reddish-brown, with practically no head. The aroma is overwhelmingly raspberries. I struggle to come up with any other way to describe the aroma, except maybe some light caramel and wheat in the background. Heavy, fruity sweetness, and nicely tart. Medium body, sticky, sharp, and acidic. This is the way fruit beers should be done!

Bottle is probably 3 - 4 years old. Aroma is dominated by a raspberry jam character. Some light malt character in the background supporting the jam notes. Some light tartness. Pours a murky, copper-brown with some amber hues and a medium sized, tan head of medium light thickness. Recedes fairly quickly to the edges where it lingers for a bit before disappearing. Light lacing and small legs. Flavor starts with a fairly strong sweetness and a moderate raspberry jam character. Like the aroma there is a medium light pale malt and faint chocolate background character. Faint bitterness with some light tartness. Really tastes a lot like liquid jam. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall a very sweet, jammy beer with tons of raspberry flavor and aroma. Light malt background notes and faint tartness. A beer for non beer people.
