Haslinger (464), Syracuse, New York, USA May 6, 2008 Bottle, the aroma of this beer is just incredible, smells like fresh raspberries. Amazing. Very fruity, syrupy taste and mouthfeel. I liked this beer more than New Glarus’ Belgian Red. I would buy this again soon. It’s an excellent beer to share with a few friends because it is definitely much too sweet to drink alone. Also you will make lots of friends sharing beer like this.
17thfloor (590), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 26, 2008 Not much to describe about this beer... except... its raspberries... pure raspberry aroma .... and pure raspberry flavor with a hint of acidity in the finish. Pours a murky purple/red with a nice pink head. Love the raspberry seeds floating around everywhere. Extremely drinkable for something that looks thick like syrup, however you get none of that. I would love to have seen them go bigger than 4% though, the flavors could hold for sure. shintriad (655), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 11, 2008 Super dark red with pinkish-grey head. Foamy, extremely heady and thick aroma, bit of salt up front and acidity in the middle. Thick body. You’d expect something this tart to hurt your teeth, but it’s definitely drinkable and beer-like. Wonderful. durhambeer (323), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jul 9, 2008 Rating 300! Thanks to James for the bottle. Murky dark red/light maroon color. Quite inviting. Nose is fresh muddled raspberries, very tart, with hiints of sour cherries and fresh lemon juice. An earthy but very fresh and fruity aroma. Taste is fresh raspberries; pleasantly acidic. A crowd pleaser for sure. Great beer. travita (662), Lewisville, Texas, USA Jul 7, 2008 Deep and dark marron color with a pink colored head. Smell is wonderful. Raspberries in strength and sweet like dessert. Taste is sweet raspberries. Dessert in a liquid form. Almost anyone would like this beer. Easily drinkable. badbeer (391), Iowa, USA Jul 6, 2008 Ruby red color with a light pinkish head leaving excellent lacing. Rich smell of tart raspberries; reminds me a lot of the raspberry Jell-o my grandma used to make. Raspberries lightly pucker in your mouth, it’s really like eating raspberries fresh, only in liquid form. The amount of tartness is perfect, not overly acidic like how some raspberry framboise’s can be; sour, without the harsh. Carbonation dances on the tongue, enhancing each flavor. Medium bodied, finishes a bit dry. Incredibly drinkable, if this was in a nonic pint glass, I’d probably end up polishing off the bottle in no time.
