COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This dark ale is a hearty and satisfying reward for those of us who embrace the frozen tundra. Uncut oatmeal fresh from Chilton, Wisconsin gives this Stout a "sink into it" smoothness that slides you into its depth. Handcrafted English Chocolate malt and Wisconsin Victory malt combine to balance this robust ale. Expect this ale to pour a luxurious rich head over a rich black ruby body. The powerful malt bouquet will greet you as you tip this silky smoothness from your glass. Our Oatmeal Stout is handcrafted in the time-honored traditions. Serve just above room temperature and relax -- road construction season will soon return.

Bottle. Pours a deep dark brown with a tan head and lacing. Toasted malt aroma, with chocolate, coffee, and burnt toast. Taste is sharp, of malt, chocolate, brown sugar, and toast. Lingering sharpness that ends a bit watery. Tasty.

Pour is dark brown with a thin tan head. Pretty high carbonation levels for a stout. Aroma is roast/toasty/slight coffee. Flavor is of chocolate and toast. Well-balanced, nothing amazing but very drinkable and a good session stout.

Black with fally foamy tan head...huge lacing. Chocolate malt on the nose. Typical stout profile...roasted malt, chocolate, coffee, vanilla. This is a quality stout and I can’t say a bad thing about it. Filling but easy drinking.

Bottle. Muddy dark brown/black with a small light tan head. Nose is lightly sweet, some lactose, metal, light roast, and cocoa. Similar flavor, a little watery, but solid.

Bottle. Pours brown with little head. It pours light and thin for a stout. Aroma is rich with malt and chocolate. Very inviting. Taste is super smooth upfront and lasts throughout. Very malty and thicker than it poured, but not thick either. Very well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

New Glarus nails it again. Creamy mouthfeel, but it’s backed up by a complex malty body and plenty of hops to keep it honest. Chocolate, toast, and oatmeal. Not at all heavy. Typical for NG, they take a beer style, and bring maximum flavor without going over the top in any aspect. An excellent stout.

murky dark brown, thin cream head with large bubbles ring after moments. Nose is dusty cocoa and oatmeal, very grainy. Lightly medicinal flavor, anise, cocoa finish. Attenuated, controlled.

Well, after a long weekend of beer sampling, the only glassware I had left was a kolsch, but I figured I’d use it anyway. This is an attractive beer, dark, almost black, off white head. Aroma of coffee and buttered toast, like a diner during breakfast. Taste is chocolate and roasted malts. Tasty. Nice stout.
