Happy Accident Fruit Ale Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsin’s favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavors discovered by accident in a sour ale! Cheers to the unexpected. Vielen Dank!

Bottle post-The Stout Tasting Part I, London - many thanks to Bruce for keeping the party going! Pours clear purple with a fine white cream cap. Big tart grape and berry aroma, some raspberry. Big sweet flavor, fairly thick, some grapes. Medium to full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Big and juicy. Reminiscent of bug juice. It’s kind of sugary. Still, really tasty.

While I wasn’t a big fan of the apple ale, I absolutely LOVE this brew. The sweetness from the cherries and cranberries really come through in the finish and make it a lot more enjoyable to me Delicious beer that can be appreciated by both the biggest beer geeks and those who don’t enjoy beer at all. The problem that we always run into when we’ve got this on hand is that it’s gone way too quickly.

Not as good as Wisconsin Belgian Red, but pretty darn good. Hopefully the drought will come to an end soon and Red will be back on the shelves in 2013. Serendipity will have to hang with Raspberry Tart for now.

(750ml bottle) clear brilliant copper, effervescent. Nose of cherry, apple, urinal cakes, cinnamon, spicy candy. Taste of rich cherry syrup, cinnamon, apple pie, amazing and delicious. Complex but hard to even describe.

Clear red brown colour, slight white rim. Aroma of fruit, apple, cherry, red berries, caramel. Did I mention lots of fruits? Sweet fruity flavour. Sweet fruity finish, lots of apples and cherry.
Sweet, maybe too sweet, but still balanced. I can see the attraction of this, but wouldn’t want to drink more than a small taster glass.

Pours a dark pink/light red with white bubbly head. Aromas are cranberry sauce, sour cherries, and apple juice as it warms. Just as advertised. Like all new glarus fruit beers, bubbly and effervescent. Sour flavours...cherry and granny smith apples. Mild finish. Excellent. Fruity, fresh, awesome. Very glad I got to try this.

Poured I to a tulip a very clear dark red with a nice 1 finger white head. Aroma hits you with some huge fruit with tart cherries and apple. Taste follows th.e nose with Cherry up front followed by tart apples. My first thought was that I had a cherry jolly rancher. I can’t help but appreciate how they turned this into a beer....incredible. Mouthfeel is light with a lot of carbonation that tingles the tongue. A very nice fruit beer to sip on and nothing else.

75cl bottle sample @ RBBWG 2013, courtesy of Travlr.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2014 (20/01/2013) Thanks to Travlr for sharing this one. 75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2013. Has the colour of red apples with a dash of copper. Smell is incredible, reminds me of a kind of candy I had as a kid, not sure of the name, pixie dust candy? Blended with very sweet red apples, non-tart cranberries, cherries,… Taste is the before mentioned candy, cherry juice, sweet red apples, lots of candy sweetness, zero fruit acidity, raspberries, caramel, very sweet but not sugar sweet, more candy,… Body like air… crazily good… damn. I could drink just so much of this. //////////////////////////////////////// Had this again thanks to JefVerstraete - totally overrated the first time around, this is just candy / sugar etc. very sweet, fun first time but quickly becomes a chore. I do not get why this is rated so high this lemonade & I love sweet candy things like this but this tastes almost like some macro chemical fruit beers.
