4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750ml bottle. Deep murky burgundy. Quick fading beige-red head, soda-like carbonation bubbles rising to the top. Sweet sugary cherry-apple aroma. Big fruity tones, very reminiscent of the Belgian Red, but with some cranberry tartness in their. The flavor is immense. A really enjoyable beverage, but a little overbearing in itís sweetness... more juice than beer at times. Purple sweet tarts all the way.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. A deep purple red pour. Aroma is tart cran-apple. Slightly floral and fragrant. Flavor is a tart, yet sweet mix of green apple, cranberry, raspberry, and towards the end, a little cherry. Sweetness does trail off leaving behind light fruit, wheat malt and vanilla. Palate pretty well cleaned off for the next sip. Still, a bit sweet. Not as good as what itís replacing, but still good.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
I got a 750mL bottle of this from Woodmanís in Janesville, WI in October 2012 for $8.79.
Happy accident indeed! New Glarus took the poor cherry crop in 2012 in stride and came up with a new delicious brew. Serendipity pours a burnt reddish color with a slightly pink head. The scent is still mostly cherries but is overall very fruity and sweet smelling giving it that classic sour ale smell. Taste is sweet and fruity with all the main elements (cherry, cranberry, and apple) evident in the mix. Added to the mix was the great decision to age this in oak to make this an interesting, fruity, and delicious sour ale that is supposedly only to be around until Jan 1 in place of their usual Belgian Red. Get it while you can folks!

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Poured from bottle, pours a dark ruby red with an off white soapy head, aroma has a ton of apple to start off, some cherry and the cranberry really didnít come through on the nose, the flavor literally has all three fruits together, all the apple and cherry comes through on the front end with a finish of the cranberries, sweet on the front and tart and sour in the finish, I am going to buy a ton of this.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Reddish hue big frothy white head with good lacing. Aroma of green apple skins and cranberries with a hint of tart cherry as well. A good amount of sweetness with the tart. Well coated palate. Sweet fruit cranberries mostly with a touch of Granny Smith apples. Sweeter than I might have liked but delicious.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle - Pours deep brown with a hint of red and a thin off white head. Nose is really pungent fruitiness, cherry coming through strong, but with a touch of cranberry tartness. The apple finally comes through in the taste, sweet and crisp, with real strong cherry in the middle, and the cranberry tartness coming through on the finish. Real sweet like the Belgian Red, so youíve got to know that coming into it, but this is fantastic.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
1pint 9oz bottle. Pours out a very nice deep red, similar to grape juice. Thick head that fades fast but remains thin around the glass throughout. Strong fruit aroma, cherry dominating. Lightly carbonated and lighter bodied. Sweet apple and cherry on the tongue with a tart finish. Great balance of fruit flavors! Complex and a very enjoyable beer!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
750ml bottle, purchased at Discount Liquor Milwaukee, split with my wife. Pours a crystal clear, deep, blood red color with a thin white head. Aroma is fruity, cherry, apple. Medium body on the palate with lively, prickly carbonation. Flavor is sweet and tart, all of the fruit comes through in my opinion, apple up front, cranberry in the middle, with a sweet cherry finish. More tart than the Belgian Red. The fruit flavors are more complex than the other two. If you like the other fruit beers from New Glarus, youíll like this. Another fantastic fruit beer.
