4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
[Bottle] Iíve had this a couple of times now, and Iíve failed to take really thorough notes either time. These terse notes will therefore be in need of a re-rate from one of my remaining bottles. Pours red with a nice off-white head. Aroma is big on cranberry. Cranberry and cherry are integrated beautifully in the taste. Medium-thin mouthfeel. Wow. I am a sucker for cranberry beers in general, and I love New Glarus, so unsurprisingly this was a big winner for me. Thanks for sharing the initial bottle I tried, Guerde!

750ml bottle, shared by Caterwaul. Really amazing nose. Like a fruity yankee candle, without the wax. Awesome cherry, grape, apple nose. Light sweet taste, but not cloying at all, very nice appropriate taste. Spicy yeast note works well to balance the fruit. Clear red / orange color. Good thin retaining off-white / slightly pink head. Great lace. Medium light body, light carbonation, kind of dry finish. Excellent fruit beer.

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Holy cow. This is incredible. I heard rumors upon my return to Wisconsin that my favorite brewery, the fabled New Glarus Brewing Co., had produced a special seasonal fruit beer. After savoring their Belgian Red and Raspberry Tart beers for many years, I knew I had to try it. Then, lo and behold, I received it as a Christmas gift from my grandmother. Yes!
It pours a beautiful ruby color with a thick off-white head. Significant lacing, too. Aroma is a lovely blend of apples, cranberries, and cherries. The flavor is very fruity, with apples up front, and cherry/berry flavors at the end. Itís very similar to Belgian Red, but more complex. The apples give it additional sweetness, but the cranberries add a tart flavor. Sorry Belgian Red and Raspberry Tart, but this might just be my new favorite New Glarus fruit beer!
I paired this with a nice buttery Wisconsin gouda cheese and had myself a little snack earlier. Mmmm...

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle-thanks to my good friend Laura for sending me this one from WI-pours cranberry red hue-looks amazing! pink red head with some sparse lacing-nose is vanilla, apples, cranberries, tart cherries, very tart flavors of vanilla, cherries, ripe red apples, tart cheese (sharp cheddar). long tart and cheese finish. WOW this is awesome! palate is lite with sprtizy carbonation from the wood aging and seems to be a norm for the brewery on their fruit beers. I think this is the ultimate fruit beer! It doesnít get much better than this!

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle as a Christmas gift from my aunt-in-law from Madison. Thanks, Gretchen! Pours a clear ruby red with an inch of tinted off-white head. Aroma of cherry, cranberry, apple, currants, oak, and sweet malts. Flavor hits the same notes. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a sweet, tannic, tangy mouthfeel with minimal tartness. Really nice fruit beer. Drinks a lot like Belgian Red. So well done.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle thanks to deeblo after a night of big stouts! It pours deep ruby-red with a small off-white head. The nose is tangy fruit.... apple, cranberry, cherry, blueberry, light oak and some tartness. The taste is tart fruit, jam, tangy berry (cranberry and blackberry), apple, marzipan, vanilla and light oak with a dry, tart finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and slightly sticky mouth-feel. Nice fruity sourness. Fairly straight-forward, but tasty and very well balanced. This beats Belgian Red & Raspberry Tart in my book.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Fruits galore! Cranberries, apples, cherries, and even some blueberry notes to top it off. Minimal tartness makes this brew imminently sessionable. A clear step above both previous NG fruited beers, and a helluva value at $9/bottle.

4.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Read great things about this elsewhere, and it did not disappoint. The big cherry aroma gets revealed after a pretty pour with a fluffy, reddish-hued head. The taste does a quick flip from sweet to tartly sour, and the real star is the long, luscious finish that clearly goes from cherries to apples to cranberries.

Bottle. Pour is reddish amber with medium off white head. Aroma loaded with apple, cream soda, light tart notes, and faint pie spice. Flavor very true to nose with apple, really nice sweet tart notes, and a really nice ginger ale note. Great.
