Happy Accident Fruit Ale Severe Drought, we shared the farmerís horror as Wisconsinís cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsinís favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavors discovered by accident in a sour ale! Cheers to the unexpected. Vielen Dank!

Bottle from Neal - thanks! Clear reddish pour with a froth of white foam. Aroma is apple, berries, sugary fruit, and light tart. Taste is heavy with apple and cranberry and sugary fruit. Clean, lightly coating mouthfeel. Sugary but very good in small pours - I cannot imagine anyone really making better fruit beers than New Glarus.

Pours a deep red with minimal head after pouring. Smells of tart cherry and apple. Tastes almost the same as it smells. Drinks very similar to theBelgian Red and the apple in it does nicely too even it out.

My Bottom Line:
Portentous cranberries and Montmorency cherries leap from the glass, sticking to the palate even after just one sip.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A crown of foam circles the clear garnet.
-The flavor profile is in line with the powerful aroma.
-This tastes like a super fruity soda of the best kind. But it doesnít have the drinkability.
-Cranberries donít have the appeal of raspberries or cherries in beer, imho. But this will definitely please all those looking for an intensely fruity experience.
-Mild acidity accompanies the sugars in the finish.

I feel like forever who hasnít tried this beer be prepared... Doesnít have the slightest resemblance to beer IMO Poured a cherry amber color with no head and very little carbonation. Flavor is sweet, mix of cherries, crab Apple, cranberries, and a slight sourness which reminds me of being a kid working on an Apple orchard drinking fermented Apple cider. My wife loved it, I wasnít in the mood for this on a cold snowy winter night but will give it another go in the summer

One of many New Glarus bottles courtesy of GhostFace. Deliciously sweet and tart, even in the aroma. Excellent balance and complexity.

12/24/12. 750mL bottle thanks to cbfobes! Mostly clear dark amber pour with a small khaki head that fades. Nice fruity aroma with touches of tartness that are distinctly loaded with cherry and a lesser bit of cranberry. Lightly tart flavor with lots of cherry, apple, and light cranberry. It reminds me of Jolly Ranchers in a way, but itís damn good. Tasty!

19/I/13 - 1Pt. 9Fl. Oz. bottle @ RBBWG 2013 - BB: n/a (2013-36) Thanks to Travlr for sharing the bottle!

Clear ruby red to copper red beer, small irregular light pink head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit sour, cherry candy, cherry syrup, sugary. MF: little carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity, sweet, cherry candy, syrup, bitter touch. Aftertaste: sugary, cherry candy, syrup, a lemony sour touch, more candy sweetness. Not much different from all the sweet Belgian "kriek" ales...

Pours red with a tan head that disappears quickly. Aroma is strong apple and cherry. Taste is tart and fruity but with a significant amount of sweetness, a little much for my taste. It has a medium body with and is a bit fizzy. Overall this is a great beer, wouldnít mind if it was a bit drier but if I had the opportunity in Chicago to purchase more of this I definitely would be.

Bottle shared with northropfrye. Luxurious cherry aroma. I could taste apples and cranberries. Beautifully sweet and tart, balanced exactly the way I like it. This beerís a real treat.
