Happy Accident Fruit Ale Severe Drought, we shared the farmer’s horror as Wisconsin’s cherry crop failed! Dan bought what cherries he could. The apple crop fared better. Then joy! A grand Wisconsin cranberry harvest. What will Dan brew with Apples, Cranberries and Cherries? Oh my! You hold the happy accident of Wisconsin’s favorite fruit aged in oak with an almost magical wild fermentation. Serendipity is a wondrous celebration that sparkles your senses and dances across your palate. A kaleidoscope of flavors discovered by accident in a sour ale! Cheers to the unexpected. Vielen Dank!

75cl bottle sample @ RBBWG 2013, courtesy of Travlr.

UPDATED: JUL 31, 2014 (20/01/2013) Thanks to Travlr for sharing this one. 75 cl. bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2013. Has the colour of red apples with a dash of copper. Smell is incredible, reminds me of a kind of candy I had as a kid, not sure of the name, pixie dust candy? Blended with very sweet red apples, non-tart cranberries, cherries,… Taste is the before mentioned candy, cherry juice, sweet red apples, lots of candy sweetness, zero fruit acidity, raspberries, caramel, very sweet but not sugar sweet, more candy,… Body like air… crazily good… damn. I could drink just so much of this. //////////////////////////////////////// Had this again thanks to JefVerstraete - totally overrated the first time around, this is just candy / sugar etc. very sweet, fun first time but quickly becomes a chore. I do not get why this is rated so high this lemonade & I love sweet candy things like this but this tastes almost like some macro chemical fruit beers.

Bottle, pours clean brown-red with light night sky head, tons of vinous, vanilla fruit aroma, fantastic sweet vanilla fruit, at the point of cloingy but doesn;t exceed the threshold, really a fantastic brew

Sampled from bottle @ RBBWG 2013. Clear mahogany red color, small off-white head. Aroma and taste are very very sweet, some chemical cherries and an incredible amount of fruit. Not my thing I’m afraid.

Pours a ruby red color, little head. Aroma is sweet with cherries, apple and citrus. This is a very good beer to serve for the Holidays. Love it.

Courtesy of Skyview. Dark red color with a large head. Aroma of cranberries and cinnamon. Tart cranberry flavor with a decent showing of cherries. Pretty sweet. More reminicent of their Cran-bic than Belgian Red, which is not a bad thing.

Deep red with a slight, tan head. Aroma of cherry, apple....rich, yet light. Wonderfully full sweetness, cranberry, apple, cherry...spiced. Bold, remarkably natural flavours. A pleasure.

750 ml. bottle. Thanks Jeff! Pours a nice muted red with a slightly pink head. Nice aroma of cherries and cranberries. Taste is sweet cherries, tart cranberries, apples, and wood. Starts sweet and finishes tart. Excellent, excellent.

Bottle shared at SL via Tara... Light purple tint, small head. Great nose on this beer. Smells like raspberry/cherry pie. Taste reminds me of the raspberry tart....just a little lighter body wise. Tons of cherries, light apple notes. Sweet but not sugary. Body has an oily base with a good amount of carbonation. Overall.... really enjoyed this beer. Wish I had more. I could drink this all the time

Picked up a 750 ml bottle at Discount Liquors in Waukesha, WI. Pours a ruby red caramel colored brew with a thin beige head that quickly dissipates to a film top and minimal lacing. Aroma of both tart and sweet berries, some light caramel malt, almond marzipan, and some rosé wine. Taste is medium bodied, both sweet and tart berries, some light apple and some tart spice. Finish is a touch on the sweet side, with aftertaste of berries, apples and tart cranberries. A touch fruitier than the regular Belgian Red but still would drink this anytime.
