Dorwart (1601), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Jun 13, 2008 Large off-white head of fine bubbles. Settles slowly and leaves a thick doily of lacing down the glass. Light roasted malts and some dry bitterness. Some crusty bread also. Color is a nice mahagony brown. Flavor is lightly bitter with some spices and roasted grains. Pretty generic. Finishes bitter with a bit of tartness that is making my m
outh salivate. Eh.
riversideAK (1579), Shoreline, Washington, USA Jul 8, 2008 Pours a dark amber brown with a nice lasting head. Aroma of some caramel, roast, chocolate, and some German styled hop presence. The flavor is light and sweet with caramel and chocolate, a slight vegetal pops through to me. Or something that was just a little seemingly off. More dark malts, a nice light spice from the hops and a light bitter/crisp finish. Interesting, but I don’t know if I am digging it all that much. pint_size (1004), Austin, Texas, USA Jun 2, 2008 5-17-08 bottle shared with lb4lb thanks to buckybeer!
Clear dark red brown with a watery ivory white head and good rings of lacing. Smell is sweet bread. Freshly baked cinnamon bread flavor. Very nice, unique and drinkable. Medium to high carbonation. Smooth and has a solid interesting flavor. KingpinIPA (816), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA May 26, 2008 Copper color. Smell of malt, spice, hops and fruit. Taste of hops, copper, malt and a splash of dark fruit. lb4lb (1377), Austin, Texas, USA May 17, 2008 Bottle courtesy of buckybeer. Thanks!
Pours dark semi hazy maroonish with a lasting offwhite head. Smell is bright cookie like sweet and spicy malt with a cinnamon hint. Nice. Taste is lightly sweet and fruity maltiness with more light, spicy, cinnamony like notes with prickly carbonation and a nice hop edge that complements the spiced like quality. Pretty solid amber all around, actually. Finishes with some gumminess, and tea like hop qualities. Very drinkable and enjoyable.
