Commercial Description:
Solstice Weiss is gently brewed, in the time honored tradition, using 60% malted wheat and a triple fermentation. This is a true Bavarian style Weiss bier. “Weiss” means white in Bavaria, which refers to the yeast that remains in our unfiltered bier. Note the brilliant white froth and subdued golden hue. Expect this bier to have a soft champagne like quality, complemented by a wheat character that sparkles with fruity tones.

Thanks to BBB63 for this. I love New Glarus beers, and have never been disappointed by one. This one is no exception. The Carey’s know beer. Turbid gold pour with typical banana, bubblegum, wheat, yeast, and citrus aromas. Great balanced taste. Smooth citrus finish. Wow, between this and the Weinenstephaner, I’ve had 2 of my favorite Weisses since Saturday.

Bottle - thanks to badgerben! Pours hazy orangey amber with a small off-white head that disappeared entirely in a short time. Aroma is like a delicious sweet bread, with orange, banana and spice. Tastes yummy, very sweet, fruity, yeasty and the triple fermentation gives a belgian tripel sort of flavor to it. Smooth, somewhat oily body with gentle carbonation. This is a very good brew!

Bottle..probably a little on the old side it being December...Pours a thin white head on a perfectly golden beer - when decanted from the yeast in the bottle. Looks almost like brushed metal when swirling in the yeast. Then it pours a full yeasty head that creates maps of the world in its surface. Clove spice in nose and some malty accents. Sharp acid bite followed by soft banana, less clove than in the nose. Banana yogurt. I couldn’t believe the improvement when I mixed in the sediment. Raised my Flavor and Overall by two points. Sublime. Amazed that it is still good this late in the year. I need to venture to New Glarus in summer and get find this on tap....but will the lack of bottle fermentation be a drawback. Stay tuned

Doesn’t produce the prodigous head of the german wheats, however it is attractive in every other way. Cloudy dark golden with a smallish dissipating off white head. Aroma is spot on, with vonderfully balanced elements of banana, clove, and light esters. Flavor is quite large for a wheat with nice banana flavor, additionally one of the spiciest beers I have ever had. Very peppery in the finish. This is world class.

Aroma is bananas, bubblegum, cloves, and wheat. Very nice. It pours a murky yellowish orange color with a moderate white head. The flavor is very doughy with a very pronouced bubblegum and banana presence. I detect some lemons and pears as well. I usually don’t like wheat beers but I think these fine folks have perfected the style. I give mad props. A seriously refreshing beer. Thanks Mr Fizzacto!

I really liked this wheat. When poured, the smell of banannas and cloves were really strong. The beer looked semi-cloudy and amber. After making its way into my mouth, the beer was yeasty, sweet and mildly spiced, and it also had a sweet finish. Very pleasant experience.

Golden color with a medium head. Very nice aroma of lemon, unlike the hefes that try too much. It also has an oddly herbal tang; very interesting. Nice wheat taste that waves hello but doesn’t smack you in the mouth. I noticed a bit of marshmallow too. Not sweet, not bitter, just right in between. Damn, this is by far the best hefe I’ve had.
