I really like this beer, it just probably dosnít appeal to those looking for a hit you over the head with robust character lovin microbrew fanatic. It is refreshing, with a wonderfully creamy mouthfeel, and a slightly tart yeast kick. It is an original brew with few standards to judge it by.

A good beer available in bottle and on tap anywhere you go in the state of Wisconsin. So people think they do not sell out of state do the demand that is a myth. State law prohibits it

12 ounce bottle into pint glass, bottled on 7/10/2015. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy bright golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon, cracker, corn, white bread, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance of pale malt, earthy hops, and restrained fruity yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of lemon, cracker, corn, white bread, pear, apple, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, cracker, corn, white bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and restrained fruity yeast ester flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness. Very clean flavors after the finish with the restrained yeast fruitiness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, fairly crisp, and lightly creamy/bready/grainy mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a fantastic cream ale style. All around awesome balance and robustness of pale malt, earthy hops, and restrained fruity yeast ester flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

A steady pour into my teku glass produces a two-finger thick, fairly tightly beaded, light tan colored head that leaves some light lacing on the sides of my glass as I drink it. The beer is a pale honey color that shows a lightly hazed, pale, yellow-golden hue when held up to the light. The aroma smells sweet of grain, light honey-leaning notes, perhaps a touch of corn, sweet pale malt porridge, and has a sweetness accentuating fermentation character that adds a clove like sweetness, and general fruitiness that suggest of floral, syrup soaked, cooked pears. There is a wholesome, sun-baked, pale grain character in the nose at times; leaning towards whole wheat crackers, with a touch of nutty pale malt.
Fairly sweet tasting, with only a hint of a bitter hop bite to the finish, but there is a slight mineral quality and some light spiciness, and a carbonic bite to the finish that helps to slightly balance out the sweetness in the long finish. Light bodied, refreshing, with a bit of an effervescent carbonation, there seems to be a bit of viscosity here though that is from residual malt, and perhaps a mouthfeel contributed from the fermentation character. There is a sweet clove like spiciness to this beer that really accentuates the sweetness.
This beer was not at all what I was expecting, it has a lot more sweet accentuating, fruit-leaning, Ale yeast character than I was expecting. In truth, before I had this, I had thought this was a craft styled adjunct lager, brewed as the flagship beer, such that it was just a step above you standard macro-lager. This has quite a bit more character to it.

Yellow/gold pour with thin wispy head. Aromas of banana, grain, hay, corn, bubblegum. Flavors of corn, cereal, floral hops, yeast, biscuit. For a cream ale, itís decent.

Have had this beer many times over the years but my first rating. A very popular beer in Wisconsin not sold here in Illinois as they canít keep up with production. The beer reminds me of a farmers brew slightly a scent like hay. The Malts used are subtle and some which have never had before slightly on the citrus side. A bit bitter on the palate. A good decent beer with a different taste

One of the best Iíve ever had. I heard nothing but good about Spotted Cow from friends online on a snowmobile chat forum. A "friend" sent me a 12 pack. It lived up to all the hype. Only problem was, when the 12 ran out, that was it. My neighbor went to Wisconsin last summer and brought me back 2 case. I need to take a road trip to Wisconsin and get as many cases as I can fit in my truck
