scoobysnak (249), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA Nov 3, 2007 Not a huge fan of the Oktoberfests anyway. This was fairly unremarkable. Tasted fine but was just really average. I have come to expect quite a bit from New Glarus and this one really didn’t impress me in anyway. chimpscampee (556), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Oct 29, 2007 Light but well done and balanced. One of the better Marzen Octoberfest’s I’ve tried. Highly drinkable. madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA Oct 28, 2007 Bottle. Pours copper with a thin light tan head. Faint aroma of wheat and some spices. Taste of caramel, spice, nuts and some earthiness. Thin and watery. I’m not a fan of this style. This one doesn’t stand out, but is easy to drink. JJClark (545), Roscoe, Illinois, USA Oct 27, 2007 Bottle. Pours a hazy copper color with a medium off white head. Aroma of nuts roasted malts, and caramel. Tastes of nuts, yeast , and hops. Has a slight caramel flavor in the bitter finish.
Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Oct 27, 2007 A huge creamy head tops the pale orange/copper body. The aroma has clean toasted malt with a touch of caramel sweetness. Nice lively carbonation. It has a lightly toasted bread flavor with some malty sweetness and a very light earthy bitterness to balance it out. Pretty decent.

NachlamSie (1630), Tennessee, USA Oct 27, 2007 Bottle, big thanks to Iowaherkeye! Pours a crystalline copper with a small fluffy head. I get sticky caramel, green apples, leaves, and a bit of vegetation in the nose. After taking a sip, I have to say I was expecting a bit more hops. I wasn’t thinking anything crazy, but this one seems to be focused more on the malty qualities and is on the sweeter side, sporting some candied attributes. It has a faint hint at biscuits with a barely tart finish. All right for an Oktoberfest, I suppose. I just can’t get into the style. cbkschubert (1945), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA Oct 20, 2007 12 oz. bottle courtesy of Bockyhorsey - Pours a clear amber color with a one finger thick off white head. Aroma is light bread and herbal hops. Flavor is light toasted malt. Palate is slightly bitter. Medium body. A nice beer. Thanks Bill. stefanberggren (135), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Oct 16, 2007 A nice Oktoberfest Marzen that really shines with traditioal flavor. Full malty taste with a hint of biscuit/graininess. I enjoy drinking this one each year. Not my absolute favorite, but still a winner in my opinion. Clear as a bell red/amber with a long lasting head. The caramel aspect really shines through with this beer. Hops are present, yet not in the fore front.
