kramer (2407), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 15, 2005 12 oz bottle. Pours a beautiful tawney color with a small white head that settled quickly. Generous amounts of Munich malt in the nose imparting a nice toffee and caramel scent. Flavor is rather unimpressive. None of the caramel and toffee flavor expected with that nose. A little bit of cardboard in the finish makes me wonder if this is maybe last years batch. Medium bodied with soft carbonatioon. Overall not a real great attempt at an Octoberfest. Left me underwhelmed. fuyajo (225), Portland, Oregon, USA Oct 28, 2005 Pours to a medium head; amber color. Tastes of malt and a tinge of alcohol. Slightly sweet, too. This is a pretty good Octoberfeste beer. SubstanceT (1090), Saint Louis, Missouri, USA Oct 22, 2005 clear amber/copper with a medium off white frothy head that is quickly discipating and leaving no lace. Nose is malty with barly and touch of alcohol. Taste is sweet with caramel and candy from back to front. Overall clan and crisp, thirst quenching. delmecum (87), Western Illinois, Illinois, USA Oct 13, 2005 Took the tour and then paid $3.50 for three samples...this was one of the choices. It was OK...would have liked to have a real glass to see how it started AND finished. barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA Oct 11, 2005 12 oz. bottle. picked up as part of a mix-a-six over the weekend in Wis. copper colored with a fast fading off-white head. aroma of caramel malt, toffee and some spiced apples. flavors are pretty much the same with a clean finish. nice marzen. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA Oct 10, 2005 Pours out a clear copper with a small off-white head. Malty and vinous to the nose. Sweet caramel. All carries over to the flavor. Medium bodied, light carbonation. Quite good for the style. MIBRomeo (1962), Wisconsin, USA Oct 4, 2005 amber color a small off white quickly dissapated head. I smell almost nothing touches of barley really weak malt. palate is pretty light. Very mild flavor sweet barley and carmel. Overly grainy.. not a great beer. 1FastSTi (2551), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Oct 4, 2005 Thanks Chuck! Pours to a reddish bronzed color with a thin, rapidly diminishing white head. I like the color, and that’s why a 4 on AP even though the head is nearly non-existent. The aroma is light. Toasted breads and a light coffee. Too light to get a good score. The flavor is nicely malty. Sweet breads and a light tea-style hops. Nice earthy spicyness to it.. Good carbonation and lightly sticky mouthfeel. Medium bodied. I’m digging this O’fest.
