COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brewed using the time honored methods and an extra slow lager to release the smooth flavor of our roasted malts. Over 1,100 lbs. Of malted barley in every handcrafted batch! Expect this bier to pour with a rich head of foam that will enhance its incredible spice bouquet. Staghorn Octoberfest combines a smooth amber body with a clean crisp finish.

Bottle. Crystal clear light copper with a fluffy white head. Smells like the typical fall beer. Sharp with a hint of spice. Not to overbearing. Really nice ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Had this on tap. It was okay, not the best and not the worse example of an Oktoberfest.

Bottle. Pours very clear Amber with not much head. Nose is bready. Taste is a caramel shot followed by some bread. Nice Octoberfest.

Pours a clear bright Amber color with. Thick off white head that sustains very well and leaves good lacing. Nice bready malt aroma with some caramel. Taste is very clean with bready malt, caramel, subtle grassiness and hints of spice. Finishes clean with faint malt flavors. Crisp mouthfeel with a light/medium body and moderate/high carbonation. Easy drinking with nice balanced flavors with nice nuances of flavor. One of my favorite octoberfest beers.

Growing up in Wisconsin, advertising for Heileman’s Old Style beer introduced you to the word "kräusening." Wisconsin’s first couple of brewing, Dan and Deb Carey, thankfully reintroduce us to the technique with their delicious Staghorn. Totally smooth, totally perfect for a Packerland Sunday afternoon.

"light in body and color, but has a nice roasted toasted malt backbone and crisp hoppy finish. not a standout, like so many new glarus beers, but a good beer nonetheless."

Sampled at esbls. Clear darker holden. An off white layer. A grain and fruit aroma. Flavor, too. A hint of spice. Really just ok but not bad at all.

Bottle: pours dark amber with a thin white head, malty aroma and flavor, not bad for a style I generally don’t enjoy.

Smell is bready and yeasty. Nice light doppelbock sort of taste. I’d rather have a nice doppelbock, but this was still a good lager.

12oz bottle. Pours amber, stiff white head. Aroma’s malt, tast is sweet malt, bit of bitter at the end. A fine fall beer.

Cold rust orange appearance; resilient fine bubbled cap. Cold fermentation can be so beautiful; the aroma here is a delicate melange of Munich nuances and slow polished yeast. Autumnal leaves, golden and Thompson raisins, toffee, caramel and toasted wheat bread. These classic characteristics are unchallenged in the focused, confident flavor. Clean, brisk palate. Demanding of large helpings but also amenable to cold weather sips. Straightforward and classic; excellent.
