COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Who is qualified to judge one's contribution? Is it the pure Wisconsin barley malt or shall credit be given to traditional German and English hops? Maybe it is the Belgian Monastic yeast or the Brewer's tender care? Combined, this is a sophisticated Abbey style ale. Both elegant and drinkable this ale is cleanly aromatic with spicy notes of clove and ginger. Crisp and fragrant up front while gracefully sliding into warm malt notes at the finish. Fermented natually in this bottle, the beer in your hand is a living testament to the value of many working together to create something bigger than the individual parts. Moving a mountain begins with a single stone.

Originally reviewed: 12/29/09. Had a bottle of this at my brother’s house in WI. Poured into a pint glass. Pours a very hazy light gold. Nice off-white head on top. Retained well, left some nice lace on the side. Very crisp body which is par for the style. I’m not the biggest fan of that feel. A little harsh. Big yeast scent mixed with some pineapple. Flavors of sour yeast, citrus, and a mild bready flavor on the finish. This was not as sharp as I expected. It was drinkable and tasty. Glad I had the opportunity.

From notes. First reviewed 9/5/2011. Poured from a 12 oz. bottle into a tulip. Found this one tucked away, may as well give it a go. This pours an iridescent golden color with a small off white head. Initially just a bit of foam, this fades rather quickly and noticeably leaves no lace. Muscat grapes, biscuity malt, and a bit of champagne yeast. The biscuity malt is noticeable, setting the table for what could be a complex set of flavors. White grapes and a bit of green apple provide the fruit flavors, and a bit of spicy yeast leads into a slightly grassy ending. The finish is a little boozy, actually, which was surprising. The body is on the light to medium side, starting sweet and becoming a little dry by the end. The carbonation is crisp despite a light grainy texture. I thought this was an interesting take on the style, but nothing about it really draws me in or keeps my interest.

Bottle pours gold with a white head. Aroma is doughy and estery with notes of cotton candy, banana, clove, lemon, and light florals. Flavor shows the same with a good deal of lightly sweet pale malt, somewhat grainy as well as some doughy belgian yeast. Overall body is light to moderate, with light to moderate sweetness, and a lightly bitter/spicy finish.

Aroma is banana, wheat, yeast, bisquit. Appearance is a typical yellow pilsner hue, crystal clear. Taste is first hit with a wheat and yeast flavor with a slightly clove, banana, and lemon finish. Palate is medium carbonation in average finish is long and lingering. Very good Abbey style ale, definitely belgian and a must try! Would have again, summer thirst quencher.

a decent Belgium ale. Nice mix of hops and a solid malt backbone. Not an everyday beer for me but decent from time to time.

This beer is really pretty decent, but still nothing much to it. I like some more complexity.
