Teased from the loam by the kiss of the Sun. Mom’s Strawberry Rhubarb delights are the happy memories of childhood. Diploma Master Brewer Dan employed juicy sweet Strawberries to tame the barbaric wild tart fermentation of rhubarb. Escaped from the far corners of neighboring yards, local rhubarb was incorporated into the wild sour fermentation to create this drinkable dream. Bright sour and effervescent. Toast chilled cold to Bright skies, fireflies, bare feet and rhubarb pies!

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2013 Pours a hazy brown/red with a fair off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is full of ripe strawberries, might be the most potent strawberry aroma I have ever encountered (strawberry jam does not smell that much!). Taste is heavily sweet but there is also a nice tartness that prevent it from being too cloying (it is still plenty, though). Some nice apple juice flavors in there too. Carbonation level was kinda low and mouthfeel was sticky/sirupy. On the same level as Raspberry Tart and just a touch lighter/less sweet. Not bad (I enjoyed it), but why package that in a 750er?! 25cl bottles would be the perfect size to split over dessert...

pours muddy and dirty pale golden greyish with a frothy and bubbly off-white head, good retention and nice lacing (bottle was shaken a bit before, thanks to tom10101, my brah). intense sweet straberry purée, tartness in background, but not enough. strawberry jam, low but appreciable phenols, hint of vanilla, light acetic notes. moderate carbonation, light to medium body - oily, sticky and cloying, unbalanced sweet and lightly acidic finish. a sipper.. popsicles anyone?

Bottle 750ml. Pours hazy dark copper with low beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma is of strawberries jam (intense), sugar, slight tartness. Taste is of strawberrie jam, sweet, slight acetic. Palate: Medium bodied. Somewhat sticky. Overall: Sugar is overwhelming. Nearly cloying. Looks like there is not enough rhubarb action here. Or too much sugar. Still enjoyable.

Bottle (750 ml). From AlexFields, thanks! Muddy brown (the bottle was shaken not too long before) with a medium off-white head, good retention, and good lacing. Aroma is mostly of strawberry jam with mild tartness and the usual gummies presence of New Glarus fruit beers. Taste is heavily sweet with a ton of strawberry jam, mild tartness and acidity and gummies. Light to medium body. Moderate carbonation Sirupy. This is another less than 5% abv sipper from New Glarus. Very tasty, but with cloying sweetness.

Pours cloudy pink with a small pink head leaving some lacing. Amazing sweet sourish strawberry astringent as is flavor. Longlived strawberry sweet finish

This one poured a Ruby red color with a pinkish head. Aroma was all straight strawberries, light tartness probably rhubarb. Flavor was similar, good mix of tart and sweet, all strawberries and then a light Beery finish Another excellent fruit beer from New Glarus.

Bottle from Casanovas, light hazy amber pour with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet strawberry jam, rhubarb tartness and a little funk. Taste is similar, strawberry very up front almost like eating straight jelly. On the border of being too sweet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

September 2, 2013 - bottle shared by Brandon. Dirty dishwater pour with some head and spotty lacing. Aroma was big time strawberry. Taste was like a strawberry rhubarb pie.

Thanks to Michael for this one. Pours a brilliant Bud Lite Lime Straw-ber-ita color. Aroma is heavy stewed strawberries, tending toward sweet preserves, with a hint of earthiness. Flavor is identical to those little individually wrapped strawberry candies, the ones where the wrapper is red and green. That’s pretty cool.

Since this was available as a draft line I decided to give it a shot before delving into some of the local offerings. I am glad I did because both in the bottle and keg this is a delicious fruit beer. Nothing short of rhubarb pie in a glass it is a fine addition to the New Glarus family.

Aroma / Appearance - A reddish base looks like someone whipped up a bloody mary then tossed on a rich head. Strawberry rhubarb pie tickles the senses along with a very subtle sourness. This is almost like candy in a glass but unlike sweetened lambics works because it has no pretensions of being anything but.

Flavor / Palate - The strawberries and rhubarbs also are strong in each sip. A mild sour tang is more salty than vinegar. Far too easy to drink in just a couple of gulps this beer is fantastic from the time it gets to you to the last drop. If passing through Wisconsin pick up a couple.
