COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Teased from the loam by the kiss of the Sun. Momís Strawberry Rhubarb delights are the happy memories of childhood. Diploma Master Brewer Dan employed juicy sweet Strawberries to tame the barbaric wild tart fermentation of rhubarb. Escaped from the far corners of neighboring yards, local rhubarb was incorporated into the wild sour fermentation to create this drinkable dream. Bright sour and effervescent. Toast chilled cold to Bright skies, fireflies, bare feet and rhubarb pies!

Bottle shared by Adam at my wedding, thanks! Pours a cloudy deep ruby red with a pink hue and a pink head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has tuns of rhubarb and sweet strawberry throughout. Flavor has sweet rhubarb and strawberry up front that has a bit of tartness for balance in the finish.

Bottle while camping. Pours cloudy brown with a medium somewhat fizzy head. Aroma is fruity, strawberries prominent, with some lactic tartness present. Flavor is sweet and a bit of tart, strawberry with just a touch of that rhubarb flavor I remember best from my momís pies as a kid. Quite good as a desert sipper, and every bit as good as the rest of the NG fruit beer lineup.

Bomber. Hazy brown with a small head. Smells like strawberry jam. Strawberry and tart.

Bottle: The aroma consists of huge strawberries and little else. It pours a cloudy orangish-brown with a small off-white head that fades to a thin film outlined by a thicker ring. The flavor starts with moderate-heavy sweet strawberry. The finish has light tart strawberry and lemon. Itís medium bodied mild with moderate carbonation. Overall, itís every bit the quality of other New Glarus fruit beers. My rating is more of a representation of my liking for strawberries.

UPDATED: SEP 11, 2014 Bottle: Thanks, Jeff! Muddled, swampy brown, almost completely opaque with barely a head; off white film. Aroma is deliciously fruity. Not sure what rhubarb smells like, but this is "berry" centric, with lots and lots of strawberry; light tartness and delicate residual sweetness. Taste is like juice; strawberry juice with light jam notes, sugary sweetness, and only the mildest tartness in the very back. Thin bodied, tight carbonation. Though far from my favorite NG fruit beer, still pretty solid all around.

Update: Bumping up my rating of this; more recent bottles that Iíve opened have had a larger rhubarb character with the strawberry shifting towards more of an undercurrent/periphery role, essentially giving the beer a brighter, zesty tartness throughout & toning down the sweetness from the first, most fresh batches I had. Definitely coming into its own.

25 oz bottle. Cloudy brown with garnet tints and a lacy head. Nose is strawberry preserves and faint celery, rhubarb. Lively, spritzy and juicy medium body; tart and refreshing. Taste is strawberry and sour raspberry fading to lemon pith and earthy rhubarb. Great showcase for the strawberrys even if a bit too sweet and one-dimensional.

Pours a murky, muddled pink/orange/brown with a medium fluffy off white head. Smell is sweet fresh strawberries, light maltiness, more strawberries, and other sweet/tart berries. Taste is a good balance of sweet and tart strawberries, tart apples, light malt Nice body to this 4%er which I guess is from the rhubarb. Just goes to show what simplicity can do for a small beer with big flavor. Just love the light fresh tartness of this brew.

Pours a cloudy brownish rust color with a finger or two of gaseous eggshell foam. Aromas are fruit heavy with bits of strawberry, apple cider, cherry and a bit of cranberry too. The palate follows the nose with big juicy berry notes, structured with rhubarb tartness and a bit of a tannic background to balance out the sweetness. Rich full mouthfeel with a medium carbonation level. Long fruity finish.

750 ml bottle thanks to khoffman43. Pours a cloudy brown/red color with a small foamy that fades to a thick ring. Aroma is strawberries and green apples. Iím not familiar with rhubarb too much, does it smell/taste like green apples? Taste is juicy fresh apples and strawberries. This one is definitely the most tart New Glarus fruit beer Iíve had but itís still less tart than the average sour beer. Love the soft bubbly carbonation. Overall, another great fruit beer from New Glarus but my least favorite so far.

UPDATED: OCT 7, 2013 Pours a hazy brown/red with a fair off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is full of ripe strawberries, might be the most potent strawberry aroma I have ever encountered (strawberry jam does not smell that much!). Taste is heavily sweet but there is also a nice tartness that prevent it from being too cloying (it is still plenty, though). Some nice apple juice flavors in there too. Carbonation level was kinda low and mouthfeel was sticky/sirupy. On the same level as Raspberry Tart and just a touch lighter/less sweet. Not bad (I enjoyed it), but why package that in a 750er?! 25cl bottles would be the perfect size to split over dessert...
