Brewed for the 2000 National Craft Brewer’s Conference and Brew Expo America. Clear garnet mohagany with a small bubbled tan head. Sweet dark fruit and malt aroma. Suprisingly light in body, but a nice smooth glide across the tongue. Malt dominated as style appropriate. Sweetness hits hard at first but rapidly fades to a dry warming mild spicy alcohol finish. Lingering pieces of dark caramel, chocolate and mild coffee in the finish. Very nice - even after 2-1/2 years.
