3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
An amber beer with a thin orange head. The aroma is sweet alcoholic combined with notes of caramel and wood. The flavor is like liquid caramel, strong caramel flavors and very thick, but also with light notes of alcohol, which in turn gives it a dryness.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
(12oz bottle, thanks Barry) Small beige head atop a crystal clear amber body. Aroma is mild, moderately sweet, maple/molasses, caramel, light herbal, alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet, maple, caramel, herbal, light metallic, alcohol. Sticky full body with low carbonation. I am a big fan of New Glarus, and a big fan of barleywines, but for some reason this NG BW does not work for me. So sad.

3.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
(Bottle, courtesy of Lumpy) Pours a clear copper body with a small white head. Aroma reminiscent of a quality vintage English ale with caramel malt, maple, fruit, and spices. Flavor is a bit disappointing in comparison to the aroma; spoiled fruit, caramel, and malt.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Malt whiskey appearance with minimal head. Super barleywine and malt aroma. Alcohol impact on tongue. Not complex taste, but decent mouthfeel. Warming alcohol. Honey aftertaste. A good barleywine while young. Thanks HogTown Harry. Another good New Glarus.
