3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Deep Orange, with a tint of rose. Aroma is Apple jolly rancher all day, sweet hard candy. Taste quite dry throughout, with a green apple tang and just a little stickiness in the finish. Not too bad, straightforward all in all. Serendipity is the gold standard for fruit beers from NG...

Copper color. Aroma of apple juice. Taste is granny smith apples. Bit of sweetness and tartness. This is basically a cider. I guess it doesn’t have as much forced sugar. Otherwise cider.

Big thanks to tectactoe. Nice golden color. A fresh crisp apple scent. Fantastic taste. Like you’re swimming through an apple pie. Very drinkable and just all around good. One of the best I’ve had from the brewery.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Thanks to Michael for sending me a bottle of the "Unplugged" version, & thanks to Ryan for picking me up a couple 4-packs of the Thumbprint on his recent excursion to Wisconsin. Review based on Thumbprint bottle, fresh.
Muddled brown-ish bronze & copper, a slightly off-white head lasts for a few minutes on top; no lacing. Total apple pie, apple spice, & apple cider mixture in the aroma. Sweet apples, mildly tart & raw, skins & flesh with hints of graham cracker, butter, cinnamon, much like an apple pie. Some sharp, acidic apple skin notes in the back-end give a mild cider-like vibe, too. Warmth brings out the slightest hint of port, too. Taste has elements of apple cider, apple juice, & straight up apple pie. Mushed apple tartness, sweet red apples, mild cinnamon, & toasted bread crust malt. Slightly astringent tartness with a dry, acidic cider overtone, hitting the tongue sharply. Lovely, crisp finish with brown sugar, apple pie mush, & very faint spice. An apple ale if there ever was one. New Glarus sure knows how to rock a fruit beer. I love apples & apple flavored things, so this is total wheelhouse for me. Pure apple pie goodness.

4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle (several) from 2011/2012. (2013 is cloyingly sweet and not like the last few years). Pours a light golden yellow with light to medium head. Aroma is apple cider with faint malt notes. Taste is again a superb sweet cider that has just the right amount of "beer" in it. Some cinnamon and allspice but that just might be from the Thanksgiving meal I usually have this with.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
I love apple beverages. Apple Cider, apple soda, apple juice. This beer reminded me of an alcoholic and slightly bitter version of the Jarritos apple soda. Pours a clear gold with white head. Scent is sour apple. Flavor has big refreshing bite which is magnified by the carbonation. Lovely. Bottle - Received in Trade

12oz bottle, thanks to caterwaul. Clear orange color. Thin bubbly off-white head. Fades to minimal, leaves a few dots of lace. Tart taste, much more so than your typical ale. Tastes very cider-like. Moderate sweet. Definitely fall-type apple cidery taste, the non-alcoholic kind that comes in a plastic gallon. Moderate spiciness. Light to medium body. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation, kind of a slick finish. Interesting stuff, definitely very big on the apple, very apple-like. Maybe a bit too apple-like for me, though.

(end of my back log DEC 12, 2013) from a 12 oz bottle. Somebody without a sense of smell could still smell the apple here. Crazy amounts of Apple. Hazy amber complexion with very fleeting head. The flavor is a mix of varieties of apples. Red and green. Very sweet with a touch of tartness, just tart enough not to make it cloying. Funny thing for me it’s more like drinking a cider. Exceptional for a fruit beer. 3.8 % ABV it damn near is fruit juice however, really nice fruit juice at that.
