Apple Ale sings with the fresh crisp taste of Wisconsin Apples. Our brewmaster begins with a brown ale base employing Wisconsin farmed wheat and a blend of Cortland, MacIntosh and Jonathan apples. Our apple growing friends squeeze them especially for this brew. Expect this ale to pour a beautiful copper color. The fresh bouquet of Apple will rise to meet you even before the glass touches your lips.

Bottle shared by JCB. This is a great low-alcohol treat. Tastes and smells pretty much just like apple juice or apple cider. Smell a bit deeper, though, and there are some slight apple pie notes... the slightly caramelized brown sugar and flaky crust... they’re subtle, but I think they’re there. Fun beer.

Courtesy TheCheeseMan. Clear golden color, very little head. Crisp apple with some caramel, a malt presence made more apparent since crisp apples are usually associated on my palate with ciders. Mild apple notes on the taste, slight sharpness balanced by sweetness. Pretty tame, but well done.

12oz bottle courtesy of OSLO. Clear, golden apple juice color with a small white head. Juicy, sweet and lightly tart apple aroma. The flavor follows with what could be non-alcoholic cider, but it perhaps just a bit less cloying. This was definitely not agreeing with me by the end. I wish it were dryer.

Bottle, courtesy Kevin. Pours a copper cider color, with fizzy white lacing. Aroma is pure apples, with brown sugar, red wine, some grapes. Flavor is again all apples (shockingly) with caramel, honey, brown sugar. Very nice. Smooth, medium-bodied, and incredibly drinkable.

12 oz bottle. Color is like light maple syrup, head is pretty minimal. Definite apple aroma. Tastes a lot like apple cider. Very bubbly mouthfeel.

Courtesy of OSLO. Clear pale golden body with a small white head. The nose is fresh pressed cider with just a touch of cotton candy and honey. Wow, that is really an incredible nose. The taste is moderately sweet and lightly tart. The flavor is a bit of a let down after the nose, with it being more like watered down cider. Medium/light body is a tad thin with a spritzy mouthfeel.

12oz bottle from woodman’s, kenosha.... a crystal clear light orange brown with a thin and quickly dissipating white head.... aroma of sweet assertive fresh apple scents that really smells quite nice and appealing....flavors were more apple juice in nature with moderate carbonation. pretty sweet overall and not too much complexity involved. really drinkable and i can see this appealing to the masses.

12oz from MatSciGuy - thanks, Levi!! Man, can New Glarus get any more rad? We had a big NG night at the tasting and my already sizable estimation grew during the evening. A big Granny Smith nose to this fine buttery golden beer, with its crisp carbonation. Lively mouthfeel. The initial sips are cider all the way, but as you get into it there is definitely a creamy, sweet quality that emerges. Hard not to say that it’s pie-like. And what kind of sick bastard doesn’t like pie?

Thanks a ton to JCB for sharing and whoever gave it to him. Pours a translucent gold with a frothy white head. The nose was just as expected, very tart apple, nice background spice character, very pungent. The flavor is spicy, very strong apple flavor, pie spices, very nice. Sweet and crisp on the mouthfeel with a mild tartness. It is what it is and is very tasty in the way it does it.
