Bottle. Nice apple cider color. Head is off-white and medium lived. Moderate lacing. Smells like apple cider. Bright, fresh apple flavor. A little tart and then sweetness at the finish. Strange mix, but I liked this.

Another New Glarus beer provided by Matt (MrFacto)! Much in line with their other fruit beers, this has a champagney quality that enhances the sweet, full apple flavors and brown sugar. Quite vinous in the aftertaste. One part cider, one part champagne, one part beer. Misses the sharp acidic bite of their Raspberry Tart and Belgian Red (due to the nature of the fruit being used) which places this slightly below those beers on the ratings list. Glad I got a chance to try this one!

Pours a transparent read with a thin head. Aroma of cider, malt, caramel, and a slight pie spice. Flavor is of cider, malt, caramel, and spice. Excellent fresh crisp taste. A little sweet near the end but excellent none the less.

Nice coper brown w/small head. Gorgeous nose of apple cider with light spice notes. Medium weight w/sweet cider finihs and lingering apple flavors. More than apple, I ican almost pick out hte different varieties. Fresh with just the right sweetness, almost like a hard cider but w/a malty lushness that is so clean and beautiful! WOW

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: AUG 21, 2007 Light brown-amber. Almost no head. Aroma is sweet-tart apples. Strong apple taste is very good but almost overwhelming. Some cinnamon and caramel in the aftertaste. Taste like it’s right from the cider mill. I could drink this for breakfast.

3.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Aroma is apple cider. Pours a transparent copper with a small white head that is gone quickly. No lacing. Tastes like lightly carbonated apple juice with light cinnamon. A little sourness. Finishes a little sweet. Aftertaste is almost the same as if you drank a glass of apple juice. Does not make you feel like you a drinking a beer. Very good. It takes a small hit because of average appearance and palate.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JAN 2, 2005 Redish copper color with a thin white head. Sweet and sour apple aroma , reminiscent of sparkling apple juice (the non alcoholic kind, that people serve to kids on New Years Eve). Very real apple flavor. Not too sweet, not too tart. Earthy apple skins come through in the finish. Very solid fruit beer, just not as much to my taste as their others. Quite nice none the less. Thanks MrFacto.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle: Poured a light brown ale with medium head with very little retention. Aroma is, without any surprises, comprised of sweet apple. Taste is also overtaken by the apple juice taste, which is great since the apples that were incorporated in here are fresh, sweet (but not too sweet) and with just enough sourness in them. Malt and hops are very hard to taste. Body is just above average with some light carbonation. This is one fine fruit beer, well balance and without the ‘’concentrated’’ feel to it.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: DEC 3, 2010 Original Rating, 10/31/04, 2004 Vintage: Amber color with no head. Very sweet apple aroma, but not syrupy sweet like most ciders. A dull tart apple taste. Slightly sugary as well. It reminds me a bit of an apple pie without some of the cinnamon. Damn fine! 8/4/8/4/17
Re-rating, 12/3/10, 2010 Vintage: Copper color with a small, fast falling head. Aroma of mulling spices, red apples and very sweet malt. Sweet vanilla and malt taste, almost strikes me as barrel aged notes. Cinnamon and apples. Same rating and delicious!

Nice amber color, small white head that faded quickly and left little behind.Nice apple almost cidery aroma with a slight sweet but not over ripe smell and maybe just a slight tartness in there as well.Kind of reminds me of a soda pop that they used to make years ago called apple beer.Nice apple flavor upfront with a slight bitterness in the middle decent carbonation throughout with the apple being a long lasting flavor that goes well with the sweetness and carbonation making this a wonderful brew to quaff.Since this is such a low alcohol brew i think i could easily find myself drinking this all day and especially on a hot summer day it would make a very good thirst quencher for sure.Definately the best Fruit beer i’ve ever had,i just wish i could have sampled it’s earlier running since Jpdipso claims it was better way back when.Since this is my first apple from these guys i have to say try it if you can get it.It won’t let you down. Thanks go to Jpdipso for sending this fine brew my way.
