COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Apple Ale sings with the fresh crisp taste of Wisconsin Apples. Our brewmaster begins with a brown ale base employing Wisconsin farmed wheat and a blend of Cortland, MacIntosh and Jonathan apples. Our apple growing friends squeeze them especially for this brew. Expect this ale to pour a beautiful copper color. The fresh bouquet of Apple will rise to meet you even before the glass touches your lips.

Pour is brown like apple cider with small tan head...smell is apple and sugar...this is quite overrated...tastes like an overly sweet brown ale with sugar and a dash of apple juice...interesting but sickeningly sweet and not apparent apple-i-ness...

Bottled: Orange colour. Clear. Apple, sweetness, stearin in the aroma. Flaovur is very sweet and cloying. Obvious apple flavour, thats a bit too much for my likings. Ends on a very sweet note. Thanks Jeppe for sharing.

I...ehh....well,.....emmmm. Yeah. My notes for this are very clear and very succinct. "Apple juice." If this truly has a beer base then kudos to New Glarus. Much as I like them, this tasted like fruit juice and not beer to me.

Bottle: Bright gold and ciderlike in appearance. No head. Smells like apple juice and tastes like apple juice. Sweet and fruity with some mild carbonation. Barely a hint of cidery type spices in the tail. Uninspiring.

Bottle. Very sweet one dimentional beer. Tastes like Mott’s apple juice with a bit of carbonation. Too sweet and not layered at all. A let down from the other superb NG beers I have had.

12oz "Unplugged" bottle. $2.50 single @ Ray’s, Wauwautosa. Under the cap, the smell is brown ale and old apple cider. Pour into glass looks like a brown apple cider, with a noisy fizzy head. Taste is mostly apple cider, though the malt does give some backing to it. Pretty full of malt and juice, nicely fizzy, but it doesn’t hang together as a great concoction. I like it enough, though.

Murky brown amber with a minimal light tan head. Huge raw apple aroma. The flavor is massively appley in fact it totally dominates. Medium sweet, lightly sour. Dry sweet cider finsih. This is so close to a raw unpasterurized apple cider (non alcoholic) that it is amazing. I like apples, I like New Glarus, I love beer, but this one just does nto work for me. They just need to turn it into a killer hard cider. The beer charecteristics just detract.

12 ounce bottle from BBB63. It pour with a violent fizzy head the completely disapated. Pretty clear copper. It looks like cider. Aroma is all apples. I guess that mean is smells like cider. Very crisp. Sweet. Appley. Cidery. If it looks like cider, smells like cider, and tastes like cider, it must be cider. This looks, smells, and tastes great, FOR A CIDER!!!

12oz bottle courtesy of OSLO. Clear, golden apple juice color with a small white head. Juicy, sweet and lightly tart apple aroma. The flavor follows with what could be non-alcoholic cider, but it perhaps just a bit less cloying. This was definitely not agreeing with me by the end. I wish it were dryer.
