3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Clear copper pour with a thin white head. Citrus hop and biscuit dominates the senses. Fruitiness seems to be the theme here. Alcohol is noticable. Itís seems to be a let down for NG, and yet, I keep on drinking more without complaint. Iíve had some beers along these lines that are border line undrinkable, but something keeps me coming back for more. Mixed reaction for sure. Not the best effort from an exceptional brewery, but on the other hand, it seems to oddly work.

SUPER weird smell. No idea how to describe it. Odd malty taste with a bit of pool water, especially in the aftertaste. Not a good beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle thanks to Homer! Pours hazy amber, medium beige head, dissipates to a ring that laces well. Aroma is pleasant, malty, bready, toffee, some sherry notes. Flavor is medium sweet, light plus bitter, a tad oxidized, lingering bitterness gets a bit metallic. Medium body.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Shared bottle. Pours a somewhat cloudy golden brown with a decent off-white head. Aroma of malt, fruit, and caramel. Taste is caramel malt, fruit, citrus, spice, and some alcohol. Very nice. Very easy to drink.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle shared at catch 22 bottle share! Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with thin white head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts over earthy hops and light tobacco. Taste is mostly the malt, nice sweetness but not too crazy, booze well hidden. Wow, different for the style, but very nice.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle: Thanks, Mike. Shockingly light hued for a barley wine. Deep, golden-yellow with a mild haze. Instantly fading head leaves a stark white collar around the brew. Hoppy nose. Floral, grassy, & heavy with perfume. Undercurrent of citrus, tart lemon zest, & herbaceous notes cascaded over caramel, stale toffee, & toasted bready malt. Flavor is also quite hoppy. Herbal, leafy, peppery, & grassy with each sip, lots of citrus peel, both sweet & even a bit tart. The back-end shows a bit more barley wine character with sticky caramel, toffee, & honey-coated toast coming out. But the hops are still the king of the hill. Modest finished red apple sweetness. Heavy & sticky body. Either an overly malty DIPA or an overly hoppy barley wine. Both "styles" I donít really love. While still a decent brew overall, this one has a small identity crisis.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
bottle shared by tom10101, thanks bro! pours unclear bright golden orange with a nice off-white head, good retention and lacing. caramel and oranges, resin and pine, minty and peppery alcohol - pinesol *TM reminiscence, sugary - brown sugar and caramel sauce; dill and other spices. light carbonation, medium to full body; sweet, hot and grassy-spicy-resinous finish. o-k, which is far from new glarusí standards.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tasted on 2/18/12 from a capped 12oz bottle. Pours clear golden with an average white head that leaves thin lace. The nose is more hoppy than anything else, with some underlying lightly sweet caramel malt. The flavor is more focused on the sweetish caramel malt, but still very hoppy bitter. The body is fairly full with lively carbonation and a long caramel and bitter hops finish.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle (12 oz). Split 2-ways with czar. From Marheb, thanks!
Appearance: Clear bright golden/orange with a small persistent off-white head and little lacing.
Aroma: Bold resin with heavy sweetness, citrus notes, herbal presence and caramel.
Taste: Super resinous and quite sweet with a lot of residual sugars, citrus, alcohol and medium bitterness.
Palate: Full body. Moderate carbonation. Oily mouthfeel. Burning and bitter finish.
Overall: Unbalanced, cloying and not enjoyable like many of those American BW / Triple IPA hybrid. Itís not complex, thereís almost no malt depth (try the Barley Wine from LíAlbion to see how rich malts can balance the massive hops presence). Weak.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
"rarely do I keep a beer Iíve had (and that is not available in the local market) on my wishlist, but this is a keeper. Thanks Lou! I couldnít imagine that this would match, or perhaps even top, the Unpugged Iced Barleywine, but it did. Itís like a Sam Adams Griffins Bow (unique in itís lighter color and palate, while still being hefty, and full flavored) perfected. Citrus hops and vanilla!! I had to read the label to see if this was oaked (it was not) but damn was it delicious. One of my favorite NG beers...ridiculously drinkable for a 12% brew. I dreamt this was a bomber last night. 6/12 - oddly showing more heat with more time in the bottle, still awesome,

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
12oz bottle, shared by alexsdad06. He says itís 2011 vintage. Totally hazy orange color. Thin off-white head. Some loose dots of lace. In the nose up front... A little oxidization, dark fruit, musty. Flavor is nicer than the nose. Light spice, some hop resiny hop notes. Medium to bigger body. Smooth, kind of creamy lighter carbonation. Light dry finish. Pretty nice, a lot better than expected. Some DIPA type notes in this, orange citrus hops. Moderate bitter taste, light to moderate sweet, no cloy at all. One of the better aged barley wines Iíve tried.
