This is Dan’s Gold Medal winning "Unplugged Cherry Stout." This ale is aged in Oak barrels to promote the spontaneous fermentation. Eight Wisconsin malted barleys combined with Wisconsin Montmorency Cherries make for a complex and sublime taste experience that you may never find again.

Bottle at Sune’s - Thanks again. Clear red/brown - white edges. High cherry, light balsamic, light wood-glue, woody, sweetness, sweet brown sugar feeling & taste on the lips. Not much stout taste sensation - it reminds a lot of the Enigma !!

A: The pour is a mildly muddled mahogany color (apologies for the consonance). S: Pure cherries on the nose. A really nice sweetness and fruit note that is almost reminiscent of the Wisconsin Belgian Red. T: The cherries come through strongest off the bat and are nice and sweet, but not artificial tasting at all. As the beer warms and subsequent sips are taken, a nice chocolate flavor comes out. This one has an almost tootsie roll taste to it. M: The body is medium with a nice moderate carbonation to it. D: One of the best of the Unplugged beers to this point. I really loved the great cherry flavor and the stout component underneath.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s pad, soured via an IP in ’Merica, 19/09/13. Dark mahogony brown with a thin tan head. Nose is cherry forward, light chocolate notes, fruit cake, cocoa poweder. Taste comprises sweet notes, lgiht cocoa, earthy notes, mineral tones, cherry and chocolate brownies. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish. Decent enough if a little over sweet. Wouldn’t have this as a fruit beer !!! Stout all over !

(Bottle, courtesy of Lumpy) Pours a dark brown body with a spare beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate covered cherries. Flavor of chocolate covered cherries and a bit of woodiness with an oily mouthfeel. Not particularly stout-like.

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured dark brown color and an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with fair lacing. Moderate dark cherry and sweet malt aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy tart cherry sweet flavor with a medium to heavy sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a standout beer.

Reddish very dark brown with a disappearing white head. Aroma dominated by cherry (acid-y) and oak which has notes of vanilla and coconut. Sweet with fruity acid and a long lasting dryness. Very interesting experiment, but the coconut turned me off.

12 oz bottle @Tampa Wkly Gathering @BT-pours a dissipating tan head and deep red/mahogany color. Aroma is spicy cherry, some medium malt. Taste is spicy cherry pie, secondary medium malt, wood. Doesn’t seem to get the stout over the cherry.
