COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"Some people paint, some sing, others write… I brew". -Daniel Carey A few times a year we will cut Dan loose to brew whatever he chooses, uncensored, uncut, unplugged. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. Sparkling and bright this is a Wisconsin original created for you in the traditional method employed by the Lambic Brewers of Belgium including five months of outdoor resting in oak barrels. Indigenous yeast and cranberries from the “wilds” of Wisconsin flawlessly pair to dance on your palette. You have discovered a rare and delightful treasure to be served cold in a fluted glass. Thanks for supporting the arts, Daniel and Deb Carey

Pours a orange body with a head that dissipates quick. Nose is a explosion of fresh cranberries and wood. Lively carbonation. Taste is earthy, cranberries, oak, and floral hops, with a long sour finish. Nice beer.

This made me remember why I like beer so much. The amber color, the friuty fresh smell, the impeccable flavor. I hope they promote this to a full time beer. It is fantastic.

A very straightforward but tasty lambic. Not a lot of complexity and a bit thin on the tongue, but wonderful flavor. Tart without being overpowering, the beer should be easily approachable by non-sour drinkers.

Very accessible but not a session ale. Distinct cranberry flavor doesnt overwhelm ale flavor. Not too sweet like most lambics and it sweetness perfectly balance out the tartness. Filtered. NG’s best fruit brew so far. Filtered with cut pink look

I cant remember if I have had this one before so figured I would review a bottle from last year. Poured a clearish orange color, with no lacing or head. Aroma is a mix of rasp tart and belgian red, with more woody flavors, and extra sourness from the cranberry. There was also some subtle vanilla spice in the nose. Taste is a perfectly balanced sour lambic with one of the softest mouths you can encounter. Excellent beer from the Legends of fruit based brews.

This stuff was amazing, thanks to Levi once again. Pour was a beauty gold red. Aroma was that of cranberries, cherries. Flavor is wonderfully sour and semisweet. Palate is tart, perfectly carbonated. Overall this is great but compared to the Belgian Red, not quite there.

UPDATED: MAR 19, 2011 This is friggin delicious! Red pour. Very light pink head. Aroma is sweet/tart. Honey, cranberries, loads of oak and some lemony notes. Flavor is sweet and tart. Just like good cranberry sauce. Lemony, oaky and awesome.

Bottle thanks to FlssmrBrewAlum (thanks Adam!) Pours a clear reddish-orange with a small white head. Aroma of sour cranberry, sweettart candies, light mustiness, and oak. Flavor is sour and tart initially with a sweet cranberry finish and some bready malt. Lots of sweet cranberry. Very little acidity. Very similar to Belgian Red but with cranberries and slightly less sweetness. Wow, what a great fruit beer! 9/5/9/5/18 [4.5/5]

Thanks to Justin for sending this my way I poured this brew in to a flute and it produced a short lived white fizzy head sitting on top of a cranberry colored body. Growing up in the northeast and picking wild cranberries for years It was hard to mistake the aroma or the flavor of fresh cranberries in this brew. The body was very effervescent you just have to use that word for this one it fits it so well. The flavors were drying and tart,it just kept you coming back for more. Another great brew in the unplugged series, I cant wait to try more. Serving type: bottle

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2011 Bottle in Iowa City hotel room. Red tinted orange body with a slight off white head. Oak and red fruits with a touch of sourness in the nose. Delicious sour cranberry flavor on a fairly light oak flavor. Quite carbonated. Tart cranberry finish. Excellent!!
