A few times a year we cut Dan loose to brew whatever he choose. Always handcrafted, the bottle you hold is brewed for the adventurous soul. This is a very limited edition and we make no promises to ever brew this style again. A provocative 85 IBUs reverberates cleanly through this Double IPA. True hop saturation from kettle boil to dry hop cellaring dominates this elegant and lustful sensory enchantment. You hold a deceptively seductive Original Gravity of 19.2 Plato, now 9% ABV following the always 100% natural bottle fermentation. Luscious English Maris Otter malt is the essential heart of this voluptuous double IPA. Surrender is inevitable so enjoy now.

My parents taught me to never take candy from a stranger, but Iím glad they never said anything about beer because it was given to me randomly on Dark Lord Day 2012. The dry hop really comes through, and itís quite an enjoyable beer. Not my favorite IIPA, but definitely a good surprise.

Reviewed from notes: Pine and citrus on the aroma, poured a nice golden color with white head. Light on the palate with piney grass and citrusy notes. Finishes almost sweet.

Bottle that I forgot about in my fridge for a while. Surprisingly still enjoyable! Clear amber pour, lots of white head. Nice hop nose, though perhaps a touch stale. Quite drinkable, dry finish - nice bitterness as well.

UPDATED: JUN 18, 2014 From memory. Had this June 2011. Probably was the first double IPA outside of a beer festival and 90 min. Tasty but nothing amazing. Iíll rerate if they make it again and I can get some.

Backlog bottle thanks to so many good ratebeerians. The look is clear, white head, and golden yellowish in color. The smell is super hoppy, so good. right up in your face, citrus. The taste is the same, pine, fruits, citrus, bitterness, and a big hoppiness.

Bottle thanks to adnielsen. Pours a orange golden color with two finger of thick sticky foam. Nose is pine, honey malt and citrus. Palate follows with a heavier grapefruit punch, big grassy bitterness and a heavy round malt sweetness that balances the bitterness nicely.

Pours a bright cloudy yellow with a half finger head and good lacing down the glass. Smells of citrus with lots of yeasty tones. Starts off with some citrus and grapefruit. Just a touch of bread then finishes pretty bitter and dry with a grapefruit pith flavor. Medium carbonation and mouthfeel. Pretty good. I enjoy the grapefruit flavors although Iíve had a few that have done it better. Still recommended though if you can get it.

Bottle from the brewery.Pours a clear light pale orange.Rich short head, lots of lace. Pungent fresh aroma, bright sharp citrus fruits,spicey-peppery,underlying mild sweetness. Taste is hoppy, fresh, clean malt, drying alcohol finish-a bit hot almost. Lots of strong sharp hops, piney and stingingly peppery.Citrus in the background.Vapory alcohol in finish. I almost wonder if this is too fresh and needs to chill out with some fridge time.Kinda hot and not the MO malt Im familiar with, maybe with time it will show a little more because at this point its nothing other than hops and alcohol not in a bad way though.
