COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison, the original Farmhouse Ale, was the refreshing invention of thirsty Belgian farmers. Wisconsin pale barleys brewed with Grains of Paradise in this bright new copper hued ale. Deceptively approachable, its complicated fermentation incorporates a blend of three Belgian yeast strains and is fully bottle conditioned. Fresh hops snap with lemon zest and peppery ginger notes, lending to its enigmatic personality. Enjoy, as this sassy Wisconsin Saison is at its best thirst quenching drinkability now.

Aroma of citrus, lemon, pepper, spice, and hops. Dull orange in color. Taste is crisp with a zest of lemon and citrus up front with a pronounced ginger and sage with a bit of cinnamon. Light and easy on the palate.

12oz bottle pours a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma of well balancend Belgian yeast, sweet grains, and lemon citrus. Taste is crisp and dry grains, hops, and lemon, ending bitter with a nice spice, pepper, and a slight Belgian yeast. Nice Saison!

Beer pours clear golden color with a minimal egg white head that is somewhat retained. Aoma is very estery with some earth and spices. Taste is bitter and lightly sweet with tons of spiciness. Finish is bone dry. I am beginning to consider Dan Carey a brewing god. This man is a genius!

Bottle, courtesy Brigadier, thanks! Pour is bright gold with a good white head, good retention/some lace. Aroma of citrus/floral hops, fruity esters, pepper, straw. Taste is on the sweet side: grass, lemon, dough, pepper, spicy yeast. Palate is soft, effervescent, sweet finish.

bottle from pantanap. Thanks Kan! It pours a very effervescent light orange color with a tall white head. The aroma is lightly funky and peppery with some dried apricots and grains. The flavor is fruity, very spicy and phenolic with dried fruits, pepper, ginger and a bit of tang near the finish. The body has a lot of carbonation. A solid Saison.

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2012 12 oz. bottle from a case brought down from Wisconsin by my wife’s aunt- thanks again! Pours a mostly clear, bright golden color with a massive eggshell white head that takes a while to settle down. Aroma of fruits (apples, apricot, citrus), sweet malts, clove, mild peppery spice, and straw. The flavor is really fruity and juicy, with some sweet and pale malts, very mild pepper. Light-medium bodied, with mellow carbonation on the palate and a juicy, somewhat tart mouthfeel. Really nice refreshing saison for the summer.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a tulip. Pours hazy golden with medium white head that dies down quickly. Nice small bubble lacing, medium body, rocky texture, and spicy yeast aroma. Taste is grains of paradise, spicy yeast, some pepper, and sharp lemon. Lots of flavor, but not my thing.

[Bottle] Pours hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma is orange peel, light doughiness, banana, and I can get the grains of paradise as well. Taste is grains of paradise, alcohol, yeast, a little banana again, and light pepper. Fairly thin, smooth, finish length is pretty good. Overall, a very nice saison. Also, I have had some really bad beers made with grains of paradise, but this was really well done.
