COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison, the original Farmhouse Ale, was the refreshing invention of thirsty Belgian farmers. Wisconsin pale barleys brewed with Grains of Paradise in this bright new copper hued ale. Deceptively approachable, its complicated fermentation incorporates a blend of three Belgian yeast strains and is fully bottle conditioned. Fresh hops snap with lemon zest and peppery ginger notes, lending to its enigmatic personality. Enjoy, as this sassy Wisconsin Saison is at its best thirst quenching drinkability now.

Sampled at 4 Hands cellarnight. This is haxy golden and has a white head. A soft nose of lemongrass and nice fruit. It has a funky pale malt first sip. Light zest and the fruit and pale malts grow. Nice.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy yellow gold with a tight cap of white.

Aroma: Magnificent fresh fruit: grapes, pear, apple. Floral too.

Taste: Sharp spicy belgian yeast, ripe honey dew, literally perfume, banana, modest Euro hop spice.

Mouthfeel: High prickly carbonation ,juicy.

Overall: Saisons seem to have a ton of room for interpretation. While I enjoyed the beer for what it was, it was a bit big, sweet and fruity for my personal Saison tastes.

From the bottle. I like this one, and I think I would like it more if it was not for the pepper. The more I have pepper and spices in beer the less I like them. Love the lemon zest, but pepper takes away in my opinion. Solid brew still.

Bottle; Pour is murky golden with a mild mannered fine bubbled white head in this glass. Lemongrass, spice notes, and some mild funk, I suppose. This brew is a big disappointment for me - It begins light bitter, barley malts, more spice notes with more pepper - lemon grass is present - but the finish is weak , the belgian side is average - it’s not a great example

Bottle via Kevin Butler. Pours a golden yellow orange with white head that dissipates quickly. Belgian aroma with some clove and banana with some pepper. Taste is again, Belgian which this seems to be the quintessential "saison". Not my favorite but not at all a bad take on the style.

Bottle. Pours amber with subtle floaties and a nice white tight soapy head that fades to a thin film. Aroma has good yeast and bread notes with some pepper and some noticeable hops. Taste is all of the above with a good lemon zest and pepper hop bitterness, and a very nice farmhouse finish. Palate is slick and shows good carbonation with a drying finish. Very solid Saison.

UPDATED: NOV 25, 2012 Glowing golden color. Very faint aroma. Typical for a saison. Banana, spice, clove.

Bottle picked up from Woodman’s in Madison. Pours a brilliant gold with a huge white head. The nose is generically fruity, white pepper, faint clove and pilsner malt. Some yeasty overtones as well as some citrus. On tasting, moderately tart. Lacks the plasticky phenols that can be so unpleasant in some of these ’merican saisons. Nice level of fruitiness to support the tart notes. Clean overall and refreshing. Nice iteration.

12 oz. bottle. It pours a hazed golden color with a medium white head, which dissipates a bit. Aroma of hay, fresh dough, pale malts. I get notes of lemon zest and grass, as well as mild pepper and earth. There are some lemon grass and herbal notes as well. Flavor has strong lemon and pepper notes as well as some funky earthy overtones. There’s a fair amount of zesty yeast tones and mild malt sweetness. Nice, well-carbonated mouthfeel with a crisp citrus finish. This is a good American saison.

Bottle. Clear dark golden pour, good frothy/thick carbonation and lacing with a light funky lemon rind aroma. Flavor is light lemon, pear, white pepper and some creamy funk on the finish. Extremely enjoyable.
