COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison, the original Farmhouse Ale, was the refreshing invention of thirsty Belgian farmers. Wisconsin pale barleys brewed with Grains of Paradise in this bright new copper hued ale. Deceptively approachable, its complicated fermentation incorporates a blend of three Belgian yeast strains and is fully bottle conditioned. Fresh hops snap with lemon zest and peppery ginger notes, lending to its enigmatic personality. Enjoy, as this sassy Wisconsin Saison is at its best thirst quenching drinkability now.

Hazy apple juice color. Small bubbly white head, with some lasting. Effervesant. Aroma is peppery, zesty lemon, spicey, belgian yeast, light fruit. Light Medium body, prickly and zesty, spicey, crisp, hop finish. Flavor is like the nose; lemon zest, peppery, light fruit, Belgian yeast, clove. Very good.

Medium sized head is off white, fairly lasting with minimal lace. Hazy blond colored brew. Nose of sweet malts, mainly, but some slight notes of melon and grass. Body is light, under carbonated and kinda cloying on the palate. Sweet malts, some vegetal notes, grass and minerally flavors. Sweet finish. Not workin for me.Bit sweet. 12oz bottle from MOTORTODDHEAD, Thanks man!

Bottle... Clear yellow ale with a small, creamy, white head. Decent retention. The bouquet is fruity, yeasty and spicy - pear, apricot, clove and white bread. Medium-bodied with busy carbonation. The flavor leans spicy and sweet, but there is a small measure of unobtrusive, minerally bitterness that prevents cloying. Nice pear and apricot components. Crisp, spicy, clove finish. Bottle courtesy of landhoney!

Richmond 19th, thanks Drake! Slight honey aroma, bit of alcohol. Flavor is a match, touch of tartness, bit of spice. Not bad, a touch hot. Alcohol heat a bit out of place in a saison, but not a bad beer.

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden yellow with a smaller white head. Smell is a bit funky yeast, spicy, fruits, cracker. Taste is sweet fruity esters, banana, spice, little citrus, doughy yeast, earthy hops. There is a lingering spice. Medium body with pretty dry finish. Pretty good but not up to where I’d hope it to be.

Bottle from akurzinski - thanks, Adam! Nice bright orange pour, a soft glow and a fast-fading carbonation. Not even much lacing, just a few thin bubbles left on the surface. Body is much fuller, palate fairly lively. But the taste is a bit indistinct, with hints of apple juice, yeast and spice and a dose of dry hops. Enjoyable, competent, but not quite up to NG’s high standards I think.

Sampled at the Richmond Gathering 19. Pours a light hazy straw with ring of white. Kind of a dusty, light peppery, sweet, musty, old lemon zest. Not all that impressed honestly. Meh

Overripe lemon nose, hot. Cloudy yellow, fine floaties, thin head. Lemongrass, crackers. Pretty nice, but rather hot, especially for the style.
