COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison, the original Farmhouse Ale, was the refreshing invention of thirsty Belgian farmers. Wisconsin pale barleys brewed with Grains of Paradise in this bright new copper hued ale. Deceptively approachable, its complicated fermentation incorporates a blend of three Belgian yeast strains and is fully bottle conditioned. Fresh hops snap with lemon zest and peppery ginger notes, lending to its enigmatic personality. Enjoy, as this sassy Wisconsin Saison is at its best thirst quenching drinkability now.

Bottle from Jeff, thanks! My words upon first sip "Oh, yeah". Just a fantastic, uber thirst quenching saision. Pour is a fairly clear gold, with a spare white head that stays aloft due to a fair bit of carbonation. Aroma is spicy cracker, a bunch of floral notes, lots of white fruit. Distinct belgian yeast character, lots of nice esters in there. Taste is much the same, with the spicy notes resolving to ginger, a bit of white pepper. Complex malt notes that I cant quite pin down. Mouthfeel is fairly full, due primarily to the carbonation level. Feels just a touch sweeter than I might like, but MAN, another great brew from the good folks across the border. I could drink a ton of this stuff....

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with white fizzy head. Funk, light fruits, and some spice on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a raw wheat note.

Bottle from StFun. Thanks! The pour is a golden-orange color with a lasting white foam on top. The aroma is heavy on the fruity esters, with yeast, bread, and cotton candy joining in. This is sweet, too sweet, going down with lively carbonation and a gentle touch of spice. The body is heavy and sticky. As with the scent, thereís lots of fruity esters in the flavor department. A heavy yeast character and caramel notes add substance thatís not really needed. No funk and this doesnít ever dry out much. Whatís the abv of this? Tastes strong like a Tripel or some sort of Belgian Strong. I didnít dislike the bottle I had but itís not a good representation of a quality Saison.

In short: A generic, sweet and fruity Belgian blonde ale. Boring beer and not much of a Saison.
How: Bottle 12oz, consumed a few months after receiving it from oakbluff, thanks Scott.
The look: Mostly clear golden-blonde body topped by a medium white head that does not leave much lacings on the glass.
In long: Nose is typical Belgian blonde ale fruity esters, this beer smells like any no-hops generic blonde ale. Body is feels rather full and with a lively carbonation. Bottle or ratebeer does not mention abv but the mouthfeel is as full and lively as Tripel. Taste dominantly sweet, fruity (canned fruits with the sweet juice, bananas, more..), yeasty, wort. No hops to speak of. I totally fail to see the Saison in this beer. This is an underhopped sweet generic Belgian blonde ale like many lower-tier Belgian breweries produce, the mouthfeel is spot-on, everything else is uninteresting. I hate to give a bad rating to a beer from a brewery I love but I donít rate with my heart, it would make a bloody mess, I rate with my hands.

12 oz bottle shared with the group. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small white head. The aroma and flavor have grass, herbal notes, citrus and light tropical fruit, white pepper, some mild barnyard funk and pale malts. Decent drinker, leans to the fruity side.

11/21/12, Bottle poured into pint glass. Subtle, light aroma. Light, orangish color. Looks like a summer beer color. Head of large bubbles. Smooth on palate. Tastes like a beer that would come with a slice of citrus in a bar, which I typically do not like. This is a very good beer. I am impressed! ---Rated via the Gridfather

Malty with some nice notes of fresh cracked pepper, lemon zest, and ginger. Overall pretty good, but not as earthy and complex as I would like. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This one poured a hazy straw yellow with a white head. Aroma was of dust, lemon, bread, and grass. Flavor was tangy bread, light fruits and mold interesting saisiny.

Pours a moderately hazy gold - slight frothy lace - nose is moderately citric (lemon, orange zest), mildly phenolic, lightly sweet, lightly grainy - a touch of mineral - the grains of paradise are medium strong and completely unnecessary - they just get in the way - full but soft and frothy carbonation in the mouth - flavor of lightly peppery phenols, mild plastic, moderate banana esters - some tangy citrus notes late, as well as a slight flintiness - light herbal notes on the tail end - medium sweet finish, with lingering spiciness - itís okay, but not exactly to style - almost tastes more like a wit.

Bottle shared by Kevin who brought it into The Davis Beer Shoppe to share. Thanks guy! Pours translucent gold. Farmhouse aroma. Med body. Flavor is fruity and mildly farmhouse. Smoothly, lightly sweet saison. Not so earthy as some.
