COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Saison, the original Farmhouse Ale, was the refreshing invention of thirsty Belgian farmers. Wisconsin pale barleys brewed with Grains of Paradise in this bright new copper hued ale. Deceptively approachable, its complicated fermentation incorporates a blend of three Belgian yeast strains and is fully bottle conditioned. Fresh hops snap with lemon zest and peppery ginger notes, lending to its enigmatic personality. Enjoy, as this sassy Wisconsin Saison is at its best thirst quenching drinkability now.

Pours golden and hazy. Great aroma of wheat, citrus and spice. Pepper in the flavor as well as some belgian funk. Dry and crisp. Got this from Josh on his trip back from WI.

Pours a beautiful slightly cloudy gold with a pure white head, mostly lasting, with lots of cascading bubbles up the glass. Nose is sweetness and fruitiness. Very creamy on the palate. The taste full of fruits, sweet breads, spices (clove?ginger?) with a nicely balanced finish. An excellent Saison. Try it with a fresh pear and nuts.

Bottle from Jeff, thanks! My words upon first sip "Oh, yeah". Just a fantastic, uber thirst quenching saision. Pour is a fairly clear gold, with a spare white head that stays aloft due to a fair bit of carbonation. Aroma is spicy cracker, a bunch of floral notes, lots of white fruit. Distinct belgian yeast character, lots of nice esters in there. Taste is much the same, with the spicy notes resolving to ginger, a bit of white pepper. Complex malt notes that I cant quite pin down. Mouthfeel is fairly full, due primarily to the carbonation level. Feels just a touch sweeter than I might like, but MAN, another great brew from the good folks across the border. I could drink a ton of this stuff....

Light cloudy yellow with thick foam. Slowly melts. Nice aroma, remind me of mown grass. Taste is fruity with a little pepper. Clove and a bit of hops. Nice mouthfeel. Good carbonation. Overall excellent. Get some if you can! More beer please...

Bottle. Clear dark golden pour, good frothy/thick carbonation and lacing with a light funky lemon rind aroma. Flavor is light lemon, pear, white pepper and some creamy funk on the finish. Extremely enjoyable.

Poured from 12oz bottle picked up from the Pig in Edgerton, pours a nice golden color with a thin whtie head and tons of tiny bubbles through out the entire glass, aroma has a nice belgian yeast touch with a good amount of fruit and tartness, the flavor has a crazy smooth front end with a lot of fruits coming through, good amount of pineapple and pear really show. The finish is somewhat dry but is still refreshing at the same exact time. There is a little bit of pepper that shows right in the finish as well. Carbonation is fairly high but it really works well, I plan on drinking a lot of this in the next 2 months.

I got a single bottle of this from Woodman’s in Janesville, WI for $2.69 in July 2012. It’s always great to see New Glarus with a new beer. This saison brew is very yeasty in scent and taste with hints of lemon zest, ginger, and banana. Drinks quite well with its rich and creamy texture. Overall very tasty, but why would you expect anything less from New Glarus?

Aroma of citrus, lemon, pepper, spice, and hops. Dull orange in color. Taste is crisp with a zest of lemon and citrus up front with a pronounced ginger and sage with a bit of cinnamon. Light and easy on the palate.

Slightly cloudy with a hay-colored hue, this ale has a frothy, white head. The aroma is somewhat spicy and peppery, with a touch of something sweet (citrus?) and a light funk. For me it could use a little. It of body, but compared to their ’farmhouse ale’ the spotted cow, this saison is amazing. It’s dry and somewhat spicy, highly effervescent, and really quite refreshing.
